Question on times / speed

Why can a car that is running in the 12's have a speed in 105? Then have the L99 running 13's @ 106 ? Gears, tire spin? Here is a video of my Dads car. "My Dads friend is driving"

The car that is in the 12's has a better launch/60' time.

Yeah, its all about the 60' times.

AWD cars and cars with slicks or drag tires tend to run faster 60' times. If you can get off the line real fast, you can run real fast times with slower trap speeds.

It's very common to see WRX, STi, EVO, etc run 13.3s @ 100 mph. But to do it, they need to pull 1.7 - 1.8 sec 60' times (which is pretty much impossible to do in a stock Camaro with stock tires).

The majority of the LS3 M6s are trapping 108+ mph, yet only running low to mid 13s. That's because they have a hard time launching (slow 60' times).

The L99s seen to do better as far as 60' times. An L99 running low 13s usually has about a 105 - 106 mph trap speed.

I have an AWD Trailblazer SS that will run 12.5's at 106. Back when the camaro was a bolt on it ran a 12.4 @ 113. The difference being the Trailblazer would 1.59 60' while the camaro would only 1.90 60'.

How can the launch time be under 2.00 on a l99? They are bringing the RPM's up to around 1,700. The car is sitting on NT555r's with a Pair of BMR Trailing arms. The track has rubber or something all over at the start. On the street the car will not spin at all.

Whats the questio? I can't follow that statement. If you are asking how you can't get the L99 60' under 2.0...there are different ways to launch the car. You need to try and see what works for your particular set-up and track conditions.
