Heat soaked IAT will cost a good bit of HP when your stuck in traffic or on a hot day.

The debate goes on....to CAI or Not to CAI? (The mind can be a very powerful thing).
Like I have said, with the Airaid right after install-I drove the car on pavemnet that had just gotten a bit wet from some light rain. I spun the tires very very easy and do not recall that being the case before having the CAI? So I am going to conclude low end torque improved some for sure. Overall, the car is fun to drive. |

Does it sound louder in the engine compartment or in the exhaust?

Is it me or does the CAI simply look better? I've done this to my Ford Expedition and did notice a slight improvement while towing. That was K&N though so I can't speak for Airaid. Nonetheless.. I'm gettin' one..

Had mine for a while now .the take off diff is very noticeable and there's a little more noise under the hood. feels peppy in first through third and deff looks way better under the hood.I thought the system was well worth the money.

Just got mine installed. Engine compartment is louder, for sure. Cabin nose I can't really notice that but I also have MRT ver. 1.0 exhaust. I can honestly say it feels like it has a little more get up and go, also throttle response is better. I disconnected the battery for about 15-20mins to reset the computer and the first time I tried turning it on it seemed like the battery was dead, and about 5-10 seconds later I was able to start it, thought that was kind of weird.. I also triggered a CEL like a lot of people have, does it go out after a while or am I going to have to go to an auto parts store to reset it?

I installed my Airaid intake today, and it looks great under the hood. A lot more stylish and way less restriction! At times you can definitely feel a little more get up and go!
Installation was very easy. Installed a K&N intake on my truck, and the clamps were to small and a pain. Very pleased with clamps that allow a lot of play. Has anyone noticed feelings of it almost bogging out with a low roar and as if nothing is happening? It's hard to describe but its almost like so much is being injected and as if it isn't able to handle it. Also will the computer learn the new Air Intake even more over time? It has only been a day and drove it right much afterwards. Check engine light did come on for a while, but then went away. Thanks AIRAID! |

I feel no gains from mine and noticed that the MPG has gone down. After reading some post about the 87 vs 93 octane, I'll try it with some 93 next time I fill up and se if there is any improvements. This product is well made and looks great but I just don't think the Camaro's computer likes it very much IMO.

As far as MPG I have no clue (I never ck'd after the Airaid) I made a total of 43... 0-60mph runs. As follows: 18....100% stock. 8.....with MRT ver.1 exhaust 17.... with MRT + Airaid intake I have ALL runs on a spread sheet with ALL factors listed: Temp,Humidity,Bar.Presure,Altitude & DA (Density Altitude) All runs were done with 1/2 tank of gas or less (93 octane ) My findings show no gain from the Airaid, as I have explained before in another post.
