By disconnecting the batt. do you loose all your presonal settings + the tire pres. system settings Etc.?

Thanks,
Well... the SS guys are pulling 5 and 20 to reset their ECU... Looking at the owners manual we have the same fuse box and 5 and 20 are listed as ECU... so... in theory pulling 5 and 20 should work the same in the V6... Not sure what setting get lost. I may try this tonight after work...

It sounds like some people havent modified a car before. You always disconnect the negative side of the battery after a modification so the computer learns the new mod. This goes for the exhaust as well. This is common knowledge guys. Modification 101 Your welcome.

Reading through the V8 post regarding the 5 & 20 fuse makes alot of sense. They are using for memory reset for fuel settings on the SS, if at any point less than 93 octane has been used and now car sees 93, so sure makes sense the entire ECU settings default to original from factory settings - thus 'LEARN' mode. I'd say 5 & 20 for any Camaro suffice for pulling the battery lead. All that needs to be done is reset of ECU, not complete power down of car systems. Getting CAI Monday and will try as well.

Interested in Scrming's results on the fuse pull. I understand that it helps the system re-learn the correct higher octane fuel table on the V8 automatics. Don't see how this would apply to us V6's. Wouldn't we only have 1 table (87 octane)?

the fuse pull wasn't specifically for the octane... was an alternative to unhooking the battery as recommended by Dave...

Ok... just went out and tried it...

I have to say GM did a nice job! Fuse box lid has a nice map. Fuses are clearly labeled and there is even a fuse puller!

I pulled 5 and 20. I only left them out for a very short time... I did NOT appear to lose ANY settings!

I am going to the track today... I will pull the fuses when I get there and let the computer learn my driving style at the track! Foot to the floor!!! LOL!
