Keep in mind, in your situation with the 1SS, just like me, you'll want to look at adding the bluetooth/USB module in the car to integrate it into the radio.

This looks like a good alternative. Ram-mounts also make mounts for the iPad as well. Do you have any more pics from different angles to show how it attaches?

Yes, in this thread: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=113617 I posted a number of pictures for another user to see the mounts and placement.

I figured out a way to keep the iPad from sliding when you make turns. There is a product called "Invisashield" which is a shield that protects your front and back of your iPad. It does two things. One it keeps the iPad from scratching your OEM radio screen and it holds the iPad in place. That way you will not have to pay for a nasty ugly plastic alternative to hold the iPad in place.

I am happy to see so many people take my idea and build on it. I love to see what other individuals can do.

Would this mount work for the iPad 2? Since the iPad2 is thinner than the original iPad....
And i noticed on ProClipUsa.com there are like 3 or 4 different ones of this mount. I just want it to mount and be able to connect my aux cable to it, so which one would you recommend me buying?

and sorry, one last question lol Are u able to easily take off the bulky bracket? I would like to be able to take it off easily whenever I dont have my iPad2 in the car with me...cause i dont want this big ugly bracket just there lol i dont mind the actually little mount on the ac vent staying on, just wanna be able to take off the bracket without having to screw and unscrew all the time...

THANKS!

Looks like they do have an option on their site for the iPad2. Not sure if its the same model bracket as the original though. As for the bracket coming off, you'd need to unscrew the bracket to remove it. Not hard to do, but not exactly convenient like having a tools free method to remove. So there is a downside if you don't plan to use it most of the time when using the car.

Yes. For all purposes it behaves exactly like the iPhone. Just better.

No they are not the same. None of the older iPad 1 cases ect will fit. The iPad 2 is thinner and either a tad shorter or a tad more narrow, can't remember which. I believe the iPad 2 holder on proclip just became available.

They make a quick release piece that you can add, I have it and it makes it very easy to take on and off, 2 seconds.

Thumbs up Works like a charm!

This was a great Idea! I just saved about $2K is custom work! Netflix, Hulu and Slingbox back to my house for live TV. Plus this is a convertible so now we can use the TV feed for tailgating. Now when we travel the Audio can play via Pandoa or from my collection on the ipad via Air Play / Bluetooth audio to the radio. As for nav the Navigon Map for the USA & Canada software with 3D view and Live traffic works like a charm and runs high res.
