It was definitely an easy install. I did mine before having my exhaust and I was surprised how much better my car sounded with JUST a CAI. It's a great first mod.

Now get an exhaust!

Picked up a new '12 1LS last weekend. I have dreams of stainless ceramic coated headers, hi flow cats, thunderous mufflers, cai, rims & tires, and blackouts.

But I think I'll concentrate on paying it off first.

Better scratch off headers anyway. '12's can't get them

I ordered mine from Juiced Motorsports. They're a forum sponsor and carry a lot of exhaust options. PM Juiced1 and see what his best deals are on the exhaust of your choice. Shipping was free and FAST.

I had a post about this elsewhere, but I might as well post here as well.

So far, here's what I've done:
  • Spoiler
  • Dark Grey Rally Stripes
  • Quarter Flares (mud guards)
  • Tinted Windows
  • 20" Lorenzo Wheels
  • Tires
  • Retrofitted and painted headlights
  • AAC Halos
  • Fog lights

Some pics of it along the way. The last is currently my favorite of the car.

Day 1:

Spoiler/Quarter Flares/Stripes:

Rims/Tires:

Lighting Upgrades:

Current Favorite Pic of the Camaro:
Doesn't really show all of my mods too well, but the car itself looks amazing.

Is that the standard Chevy "High Wing" spoiler? I'd like to see some more pictures from the rear angles if you can!

Also you said you painted the headlights, can you describe?

You can just go to any parts website. Look for the replacement parts for an LT or something. You will need the bezels, fog light housings, and bulbs. I just went with the AAC kit to keep it simple, but you can save about $30 or so piecing it together.

Spoiler: Yep, that's the Chevy High Wing spoiler.

Headlights: They were "retrofitted" by The Retrofit Source. They started out as the normal halogen bulbs. First pic is of the lights after they were retrofitted and painted, before the halos were put in. The rest are of the finished product.

That's what I have! 2012 base LS, inferno orange.

Have NS-1 stripe package, MRT v2 axleback exhaust, and a CAI in the mail.

I have $600-700 left right now to spend on mods but I don't know what to get with it (I want something cosmetic)

I really really really like what you did with those headlights. I have a Headlight Armor kit on them now to darken them but this looks so vicious!!! Checking out that Retrofit site, which kit did you go with? Did you install them yourself and do you mind telling me how much it cost?

I wouldn't want to tell you wrong about the kit, so call TRS and they can help you out. I didn't do it myself. I had Andrew (that works for TRS and does the labor on the side) retrofit and install the lights along with a custom harness made for me by Rick (FwyFlyer on the forum). I believe these are the prices. I'm going off memory so I'm not 100% about these.

TRS Kit: $295
AAC Halos: $170-ish
AAC Fog Light Kit: Couple hundred I think.
(Very) Customized Harness: $175
Labor to Retrofit: $300
Labor for light/harness install: $400 (He quoted $200 originally but the harness took a lot more work than he was expecting. He stayed true to his quote, but I felt he earned more.)

I ended up spending a lot more than I planned to when I started getting into these lights and could have saved a lot by piecing the fog light stuff together and doing the retrofit and harness install myself, but I am new to all this stuff and it was scary to me. Haha

After doing some post-purchase investigation, I found this to be true. Bummer! I had a '79 F body; Hooker headers with Cherry Bombs. I was looking forward to laying the new car out in the future and now that doesn't seem to be a possibility. So much for new & improved! :emoticon7:
