Can somebody tell me exactly what type of bolts I need and where you found them? I went to lowe's on my break (only had a few minutes) asked the lady where the two inch brass bolts were. And she looked at me like I was nuts.

Not trying to find fault, just wondering if there was a brace or something in the way or perhaps you were getting some better flow ??
Looks like it about 6"-8" back..............I'll just leave it there.......

I got the parts ordered and I'm doing this mod hopefully next weekend. i read this thread multiple times and I plan on following the OP instructions with the exception of using brass toilet bolts for the drip tray and using a jig saw to do my cutting.

Thumbs up

Got my parts in today. Not sure if I want to do it myself. I will keep on checking this forum for more info. But I might just pay for it. At least just for the cutting of the hood. The rest I can do myself.

I have it as far back in the engine compartment as possible. I have a 2011 RS V-6, I'm not trying to make it into a 14SS. I figure that directly over the intake manifold would allow the best airflow around, over, and out. Also the drip tray drains between the radiator and engine, I drive my car everyday and it's kept outside, so I really tried to improve function and not recreate a look.

You can do it. Believe me I was very nervous. I was in my shop by myself and got it done. Get some moral support and you will be fine. But really it cuts very easy.

As far as every one moving it back 1-2 inches or so may be better it will keep you from having to cut into the front brace where it starts to curve down...

For the toilet bowl bolts, are the heads round or squared??? Lowes only had bolts that were round for a flat head screwdriver.

I think those are the seat bolts, the mounting bolts have a rectangular or square head so they won't turn when inserted in the slot.
