Yeah that way there is no need for brackets. And I really don't ever plan on removing it.
Question though. In some of the pics the vent looks totally flush on the hood in others it looks like it doesn't sit flush. Is theis the way the picture was taken or what?

It's most likely the angle in which the photo was taken. From my experience installing this vent, it won't sit flush.

will the hood liner from a 14 fit on a 2010? seems easier than just cutting the one I have on there?

Mine sits flush, tight against the hood. You new DIYer's aren't doing the metal work under the vent? None of my business, but around my extractor was very flimsy. That's why I added the 2x1/8 aluminum from front to back, against the top of the hood.

I'm not arguing here. Mine sits on top of the hood. Even in your picture, it looks like it sits on top

Well I'm not expecting it to look 100 percent intergrated on the hood like the 14 ss but I want the edges to sit flush and right against the hood.

Yes, it sits on top of the hood. The metal on the underside holds it down. I was just wondering if people are just "gluing" it to the hood.

I'm going to 3m tape it to the hood. But also use support like you did. Just smaller brackets. I got the hood liner and all the retainers new from TASCAPARTS.com

I'm thinking of using like a windshield silicone to fasten it to the hood. How are you guys installing the metal brackets?
