I'm getting closer...

I had to hand wash the car today so I could tape up the hood. It had a pretty good layer of dust on it from just sitting in the shop for the last 3 months. I copied off Ryan and just taped the whole hood. I figured it would be easier not having to worry about scratching it or burning the paint with sparks.

Look at the fan assy photo there are three tabs where they pop in. I hear it only fits 2012+ cars

Fab up some brackets or use some quality double sided tape or epoxy.

I wish that drip tray was just a little bit thinner. I wonder where the water ends up dripping without the tray.

I doubt I'll ever be driving in enough rain to matter though. I wasn't going to even order the deflector underneath but it does give it a more finished look. I'll remove it at the track and on hot summer days.

Finished cutting the hole today, I used a straight die grinder with a 3" x 1/16" cutoff wheel for the whole thing. Worked great I just went slow and took breaks so I didn't overheat the paint.

I like it, makes the car look a lot better. It will go good with the ZL1 fascia if and when I ever decide to do one.

I'm not crazy about how flimsy the metal is on the sides and the back of the vent. I might have to do those strips of metal with epoxy to stiffen it up. Other than that I love it.
