Could you run a separate switch that you could control and use for remote turn on? I know your not supposed to have to do that but it seems like these units are just problematic.

For me to do that which i will do if needed, i will have to figure out which wire actually is turning on the factory amp. That means that many guys may have a scosche kit and not even realize there amp is on forever and not know it.

Only reason i noticed this at first was because my aftermarket amps are connected to factory remote turn from stock amp. I have 3 amps stuck on currently.

Does anyone know the wire that activates turn on in the scosche wire harness? The blue and white wire has no effect because even when in dont connect my new hradunit, the amps are still on.

So fustrated :(

Now that i think about it, the amps should be killed when the radio is manually powered down like the factory version or when i open the door. That means this is the scosche interface screen doing this somehow.

I just installed the schosche dash with a pioneer avh-4100nex.

So far I haven't had any of the tpms or remote issues. I walked about 200 feet from the car and stood behind a metal beam and the remote still worked.

I have only two issues. Even without the onstar module, the two phone buttons on the steering wheel don't work. They still go to onstar (they cause the speakers to cut out in the exact manor as the phone button on the mirror)

Second, the display brightness on the hvac LCD. It is same brightness for day and night mode. (night mode just seems to be a dark grey background and day mode is a light grey background) It does switch from day to night with the headlights coming on, so it would be nice if each mode had its own brightness setting. As it is, if I set it for a comfortable night brightness, I can't see it during the day.

And a third issue actually (but it has to be a defect) the hazard button doesn't work. I don't care about that one though. I haven't used hazard lights in 20+ years.

Oh, and I had an issue with the pioneer. When I ran a usb cable from the radio to the center console usb port, I plug in my ipod classic, and I get light popping in the audio. When I plug it in to the usb cable included with the radio, no popping.

.
Most people don't need them, until they do.

I've had to use them twice in the last month.

Having said that, why ignore something that is faulty, not working, or not installed properly?

I'm doing the exact same combo install next week (stuff is sitting in my basement.) Thanks for the info on the issues. Any install tips or gotchas you can share?

I have the latest firmware as of today:
I have it stored in my google drive

You need both files placed on a blank usb..

you want to put your AC panel into demo mode in order to perform the update.

Please follow these steps in sequence in order to so and perform the update:

1. Place the 2 attached files on an empty flash drive.
2. Turn the vehicle off.
3. Disconnect the 8 pin connector from the back of our UAC kit.
4. Plug the flash drive into the USB port.
5. Turn the car to the “On” position.
6. Press and hold the fan + and the power button (top left and bottom left buttons) on the UAC kit.
7. While pressing and holding the two buttons on the kit, plug the 8 pin connector back into the kit.
8. You should get the Scosche “splash” screen and the kit should take the firmware update. (You can let go of the two buttons once you see the unit power on.)
9. The screen will count up to 100 and say “Done” if successfully updated. If it says “Done without counting up to 100 then it already had the most up to day firmware. If it says “Failed” try again.

This should allow you to successfully perform the update. If you are still having issues, you might want to try using a different flash drive. We have encountered instances where users have had to use 2 or 3 different flash drives before they successfully loaded the firmware.

After performing the update, you’ll most likely have to cycle the key so the touch screen module can re-learn the vehicle.

Turn the car off, then cycle the ignition 3 times, the first 2 times from off to run or accessory and then actually start the vehicle on the 3rd attempt.
After starting the vehicle press and hold the “Set” button for 10 seconds. It should take you to the vehicle selection screen and make sure to select Camaro. <--- (I never got this part to work)
Ensure all the vehicle trim and AC options are correct.

Are you having trouble getting your vehicle settings to save now? None of mine save after the update.

I never get the Scosche “splash” screen, about to set fire to the car...

16gb is to big a flash drive, 8gb works, trying newer firmware now...

Firmware updated and it is the correct screen now, but hvac controls still don't work.

So done with it....
