Removing the front lip of Z28?
Finally got my Z28 today and just got home from a long drive.
Just want to see if anyone know if the black front lip is removable or not. I won't be driving it as a DD and don't want to risk scraping the bottom of the front lip getting out of the drive way if it's not too hard to take the lip on and off. |

Im sure you probably have tried this, but I gotta ask...If its not too high, have you tried to enter at at an extreme angle? It worked for me. As for the splitter, Im not sure.

Are you suggesting that you would take it on and off to get up your drive way? The splitter is removable, but is not a simple on and off job. Nothing like the 00 Cobra R. I would suggest using A different angle to get up the drive way or some wood shoring to lessen the angle.

Looks fairly straight forward. Take a peek and start loosening bolts, keep in mind some of those lower bumper bolts might hold both the bumper and spoiler to the car.
Worst case, you have to run 4 bolts back into the bumper once the spoiler is off. Attached is Alldata instruction's |

The all data diagram calls out a quantity of 23 fasteners for call out 1, yet shows 10 in the illustrated parts breakdown. Is there another diagram showing the remaining 13 fasteners?

What I posted was the entirety of the the spoiler removal process, according to Alldata.
However, some of those fasteners may be included in the removal of the front fascia. I suggest to jack it up and start pulling bolts out, there doesn't appear to be any hidden fasteners or clips. All the fasteners are showing that they go from the bottom up, and from the wheelhouse inward. Complete removal of the fascia doesn't appear to be nesissary. Here is the fascia removal process, if you are interested in seeing that as well. |

Thanks for all the info guys!
I was thinking about taking the front lip/splitter off for now since I just got the car and won't be tracking it till late Feb/March, and won't really need the front lip/splitter. But I may look into padding the 1inch~ height gap between the starting point of my driving way and the ground....I think the gap is causing all the issues |

I was curious if anyone has entertained the idea of replacing the Z splitter with a 1LE lip on the car for DD purposes- Do the mounts even line up?
