Question, Why did you recommend to unplug the power before removing and installing intake. I did mine without doing this and have no issues.

Compared to stock the air intake ID is much bigger. Plus friends with other makes of vehicles are impressed with the size of the filter and quality of the product. People are shocked when I tell them its OEM.
I mentioned disconnecting the battery to reset the computer as the Z28 intake has its own MAF. Not necessary just suggested. Yes indeed the intake ID is much bigger than stock. Stock seems to narrow around the elbow, the Z28 intake ID stays consistent from end to end. They are going to be even more shocked now!

What do you mean comes with its own maf sensor? I didn't read that nowhere on the bill of material...I had the impression you reused yours...please comfirm.

The Z28 intake comes with its own MAF sensor, l did not have to re-use my original one that came with the stock intake.

The MAF is integrated into the tube before the 90* turn

I'll have to check but I believe both MAF sensors are the same P/N. Besides the ECM will not learn a new sensor, a calibration with a new air table will need to be uploaded.

I do have a question, CreeperRS, when you ran your power test on the chassis dyno was there vehicle speed adjusted air flow across the entire front end of the car or was there a fan pointed at the grill at a set speed? If it was a fan was it pointed at the inlet of the air box?

There was a 18-20 in. fan about 1 1/2 ft away from the middle front of the vehicle. Fan was set at a set speed, speed is unknow.

When I swapped my intakes (Roto Fab to Z/28) and installed a Bo White ported TB I forgot to reset the ECU. Right away the car felt restricted/sluggish/just didn't feel right. It was about 10 miles into my drive that I realized what I did or didn't do. I just decided to drive it and let it learn itself. It took every bit of about 30 miles to feel right. It now feels explosive and the Tip in response from any gear is spot on with my new combo.

Right on. Nice. Loving the Z28 intake and Bo White TB combo!
I know what you mean I did the same thing when I installed the SLP Blackwing tube and filter last summer. I learned from that to reset the battery after every mod.

FYI, If you don't want to dig into the trunk everytime to disconnect the battery you can pull fuse #5 & Fuse#20 under the hood. These are the two fuses for the ECM so if you pull them the ECM is no longer connected to any power source.

I installed my intake last night but need to finish up my 1LE Clean side oil separator hose routing yet before I'm completely finished. Going to be trying to think of the cleanest path and routing for the hoses. I'll have to take a look at Dropspeed's install and a few other's I've seen posted on here. I won't be driving the car anytime soon anyhow since we just got 6+ inches of snow overnight last night.

Does this seal with the pre-2014 hoods? Did anyone move their windshield washer bottle? Would this intake work with a whipple?

Good to know, I thought you had to disconnect the battery first very time.
