I spoke to the tech and they said it's less risky and costly to try and fix so they want to change the entire assembly.

My car has been at dealer 4 days now after they told me there was no noise. I told them to meet me early morning when it was cold, and their senior tester took it for a drive and heard it immediately. It's now having the full work carried out as per TSB!
