MGW decision

Recently the top of my factory Hurst shifer started poping off during down shifts. Showed the boss and she said just get a new shifter. Well you don't have to tell me twice but I just can't decide between the flat stick or round. Is there any advantage to the flat stick angle or is it all looks. I'm kinda at a flip the coin situation because I like them both.

That looks awesome with that knob. I'm surprised it threads down as far as it does. I figured with the flat stick you would only be able to use balls or t handles.

I can’t stand the round balls and wanted a nice weighted knob. Wasn’t sure how it would fit at first so I pulled the trigger and went for it. A lot of the round knobs rattle. This one is nice, doesn’t heat up too much either.

I got the standard MGW shifter and the race knob. I like the feeling of it.

Well then. Where's the best place for knobs? I'm going to flip a coin I think on the shifter.

I have round knob. I don’t have an issue with it. Though my car only has 32k miles and I just put it on last yr lol. But it’s black knob with red anodized flat stick

I have a round graphite shifter knob and it feels and works great. Much better than the factory knob. I'm thinking of adding some tungsten putty inside the void between the stick and the knob to add some weight.

I had a retro knob and race knob and of course the car came with the OE shifter.

My favorite of the 3 has been the retro ball. I have the black and orange SS MGW knob. Doesnt rattle and has a nice feel.

FYI... I will be listing this one in the for-sale section in the next day or two. I bought it to use temporarily since there was a 2 month backorder on the 1LE ball I originally ordered. That one is supposedly arriving today. This ball did not rattle and is very solid, thread size is 3/8-16 (aka same as MGW flat stick). If you’re interested let me know.

Oh so the flat stick and straight have a different thread size? I'm going to look for a weighted one as of right know. Should make the shifts even better.
