If you scratch this piece can you get new from the dealer. Does it go all the way around or just one piece. Looks great in. Wonder how much it cost

Next I gently popped an edge of the center console by using my handy screwdriver. I started very carefully and it came up easily.

I'm installing a line lock and needed to tap into the cigarette lighter for power and ground. Had no idea the center console popped up so easily until I read your thread - presto! problem solved. Wiring done. Thanks for posting this!

Is there any way to tell which one of the wires in the harness is the one for the oil pressure gauge, I am thinkin of using the existing wiring to hook up my aftermarket oil pressure gauge.

Did you need to disconnect the battery? I don't want to fry myself

tried to install mine tonight and ran out of day light, had a heck of a time getting that lighter out then took me a few minutes to figure out how to get the wiring out of the loop that goes around the lighter, by the time I figured it out it was too dark to finish. will finish it when I get home tomorrow. don't have a garage or ample lighting. just got to reconnect the wiring to the new one and connect the harness and reassemble. ugh, not enough time in the day!

finished up when I got home, with the exception of that damn Lighter plug everything else was pretty simple and straight forward. the TC button was as easy as the plug was hard. can't figure out why that made that so hard to remove. I ended up breaking both tabs on that plastic piece that goes around the metal part. now it slides out if you plug something in it. I really don't use it much to be honest, might attach it permanently with some bonding agent like super glue or similar. nevertheless thanks for the intructions, they came in handy

Awesome write up. I didn't have instructions, so this was all I used. I read through the thread a few times and it didn't take me more than 20 minutes to get it done. The lighter was definitely a pain and I'm sure I would have let my impatience cause me to break something if you hadn't warned us ahead of time. Thanks again. Hopefully any other mods I want to do have instructions this good on the site.

Ben

awesome write-up... took that piece out this weekend to paint it IBM. Wish i saw this write up before hand. Like others, the main problem was getting out the lighter. The tabs just weren't budging so i found out a real easy way of doing it. Instead of taking out the whole unit, just unscrew the screw from the section facing down. It just pops off the plastic(and wiring) instead of the metal part. Of course, this wouldn't have served your purpose, BUT for others who are just trying to paint it, that is the easiest way. Was going to post a DIY thread but looks like you got it completely covered haha
