i see bwoodys pic, and i wish they would have supplied an extension for the MAF, so it reads closer to the filter, not stuck in the pipe right beind where the hot rad air can blow on it. any other thoughts?

so if the trim is a negative number, then you should get better gas mileage? am i right or wrong? just trying to understand.

I had the same experience with the hennessey. It actually lost power on the dyno with the hood closed. I tried 4 different ones before I ended up with New Era OTR. Those IAT's staying the same means a TON when you go to tuning, running cams, exhaust etc, like I am.

i just looked some more, i think that the bwoody kit, looks a lot like the fastlane one.
or maybe its the other way around.

EXTREME INDUSTRIES, trims are fine tuning on the cars end to try and get your car closer to commmanded AFR. +-4 trims are quite clean. +-20 is drivable, but not desired. in cowtown, davenport can tune you, i am sure many more can.

I would have loved to have seen all the same tests done also with a tune. I believe that most people from this site and others will opt to also get there car tuned. A tune was the first (with just 45 kilometers on the clock) thing done to the Camaro. Granted, most regular folks will probably just install the first one they see in a magazine and call it a day.

Thanks for doing all of this work..it is helpful...
It does not match with what my dyno testing proved...but mine was tuned...

It is good to see what these things will do without tuning the car. There are plenty of variables on these also as hard as we try to control the variables we can never control them all.

How do we know that if we don't know the AFR on the dyno.

And is a CAI not fine tuning a car.

What are "Fuel Trims"? From what I understand, it's the leanness/richness of fuel consumption right? So the higher # the more fuel being consumed thus lowering your gas mileage?

when in closed loop the pcm is constantly trying to keep the a/f around 14.7-1, the fuel trims are the computer modifying/adjusting to keep the a/f the same
I read that as a small yes, for better fuel effeciency. thanks for the input. Now all they gotta do is make one for the v6, so my wife won't be at the station every other day.

May be after the warranty is over, As you know gm is voiding warranty's if your car has a tune.

And now we see why we need the AFR in the tail pipe to se if it is running right.

So it looks like "Cold Air Inductions" or "ADM Street" would be at the top if put in order of rank? Based on ease of installation (no modifications to the car necessary), reasonably high gains, no structural integrity problems (i.e. flimsy box, etc), as well as not leaning the car out too much (not sure if fuel trim should even be a factor, but these two were on the rich side vs lean). Sound accurate?
