guys that knob was simply a corvette race knob and an exercise in options.

you can use your stock knob!!!!!

or...

our gripper knobs, or our composite first strike knobs or just about ANY knob with a standard 12mm thread if you get that handle option hwich we will offer.

but yes if you want it to look stock then NOOOOOO problem

I am sorry I am sure this was addressed... it is a bottom mount... meaning I have to lower the trans? The HURST was a top mount on the C6 (very easy DIY install) but a bottom mount on the 07 Mustang GT (had this one installed).

Even if you have to lower tranny it would be well worth it to get the good piece.

I mean... is it a big deal? Should I have it installed or is it a DIY? I lovered the tranny/transfer case on my Jeep easy enough but... its a beat up old Wrangler... don't care if I tear it up. The Camaro is another story but if its the same principle, no biggie. I just put a jack on the trans, removed the trans bracket and lowered the trans on the jeep a tad. Same thing? How far will it need lowered? Can you leave the driveshaft in?

Sounds like you just have to remove a few bolts and leave driveshift in. That will allow you to lower tranny enough to change shifter.

yes its actually no biggie at all.

i was jsut like you when i first got the car and started to tackle the job. i was like great i have to lower the tranny jack it up etc etc...but the great thing is the tranny mount has VERy long bolts and you basically just have to remove them a little at a time evenly and let the tranny sag and then the mount just comes off leaving the tranny hanging.
the drivesahft is soo massive in these cars the tranny does not need to be supported so you dont even need a jack stand. i have basically hung on the thing like a monkey and it will not break.

you only need to remove the support for two reasons ...one is that the stupid lock pins holding the oem shifter body in have no clearance to slide out on the passenger side unless you lower the tranny a little and 2 the tranny bracket is HUGE so its just flat in your damn way when trying to work.

once you get it out of the way its a piece of cake

so in summary dropping the tranny which sounds SOOOOOOO scary is in reality a 15mm socket 4 bolts and about 5 minutes of your time!~!!!!!!:thumbsu p:

I saw some of your old Mustang shifter install videos with the DIY Dynamat cut-ups and insulation material in the console... I'm guessing the Camaro version will be more "polished?"

ok not sure where the negative connotation post are coming from but ill keep it on a positive level

if you read any of the forums online and actually look at the reviews of our shifters and see them in person i think the term UNpolished would be FARRRR from what you get.

the reason we applied and offered the dynamat on the 2005 shifters for the mustang is that simply they needed it due to the exhaust being right under the shifter opening. we included it in the kit as a convenience. yes it wasnt the cleanest way to do it but it worked. since 2008 ford finally figured it out themselves and has coated the entire tranny tunnel with a heat and sound barrier material to try to reduce this issue.

take a look at some of the reviews of our shifter for the 2005-2009 mustang and the term as quiet or QUIETER than stock comes up often...not by accident sir by design!!!!!

I am very interested in this! Do you do installations yourself or is this shipped as a DIY kit?

I apologize for never hearing about MGW before this, but I have read up on the products now and believe it will be great

Sorry, I didn't read other forums and didn't know about Mustang sound/heat oversight. I just looked at what I could find on your website which was a video with step-by-step installation. I wanted to get an idea how you designed adjustable shift throws and shifters angle/height adjustments. The design makes sense.

I wanted clarification on the new camaro replacement assembly installation, but only had an old video of the 2005 Mustang as reference. In the video, I saw dynamat being cut-up and installed in pieces around the trans tunnel opening.

Thank you for that clarification on the Mustang. I will rephrase FWIW for Ripshift and Hurst for the Camaro. (unpolished may not be an appropriate term for the situation)

Can we assume the new assembly will be a similar install as the Ripshift or Hurst? Do we drop trans via mount, remove & replace assembly, adjust throw/height/offset and bang away? I drove a rented LT(auto) and it was pretty quiet(more refined?) compared to older Camaros. I'm guessing the dynamat insulation is not needed with your entire replacement assembly.
