Thats my dads first car which was stolen back in '75 IIRC. I'll give you the reader digest version of the story.

My dad took a 1966 chevelle and wanted to put a 1967 SS hood on it, but since the whole front end is different he had to replace the whole nose. He also matched the rear fender flares with the front ones to clear really wide rear tires.

One night when he had all the body work finished and had just gotten his 427 tuned just right and actually running it was stolen! Now it doesn't end there. A couple of my dads friends were cruising around that same night and saw my dads car go by, only they saw someone else driving. They followed the car until it got to the highway and they were left in the dust. The car was never to be seen again. Ironically had my dad not gotten the motor running that day then it wouldn't of even made it out of the driveway.

This was my 1987 Grand National

Purchased September 2000. 38k original miles, astroroof, digital dash, concert sound, power everything. My DREAM car. I got all chrome parts for the engine, did a few minor mods (adjustable wastegate, Hooker exhaust), she ran like a raped ape.

1 month and 24 days later, she was stolen from me.. this is what she looked like when i found her October 24th 2000:

One of the worst days of my life.

Two stories -

1). My orginal Camaro that I owned. A 86 Z-28. I was 19 years old and I still was living at home at the time. We lived out in the country and I was dating a girl that lived about an hour away. On the way back from visiting her, it was really late and I started to get tired. I was about 5 miles from home when I started to nod off and went into the ditch on the right a little bit, I woke up but I over-corrected and went into the left ditch while spinning the car completely around. The car was high-centered in the ditch and I could tell that the dash had moved. In the middle of no where and this was way before the time of cell phones, I decided to try and get the car out of the ditch. I did, and putted home. The next morning I had found that the damage was way more than I expected. The front end was lifted up about 4 to 5 inches and the frame was bent. Barbed wire had scraped all the way around the car and ruined the paint job that I had recently got for it. I got the frame repaired and kept the car for another year, but it was never the same again.

2). I had a 90 300 ZX and was going home from work one morning (working nights). Sitting at a stop light and I can hear an awful scream coming from behind me. The scream is the screeching of tires as a old beat-up Ford pickup truck is bearing down behind me. The truck slammed into my car smashing the truck and rear quarter panels. I thought for sure it would be totaled, but it was fixed and I got a new paint job out of it. I sold it 3 years later because my wife and I started to have a family and that car didn't have a back seat.

Oh and Rogue Leader & Z24, sorry about the thefts. That really sucks. :(

Two stories.

My Parents got my my first car, a '99 Buick Century, for $4k when i was sixteen. And though i loved that car, i was an idiot with it and ran the shit out of it. Never once got a ticket in the 3 yrs i had her, even though i almost religiously drove at least 20mph over the speed limit. I actually got into 4 accident with it. The first some tourists in the parking lot of my first job backed out of a parking space, apparently forgot to put the car in drive, then reversed onto the hood of my car. It was a rental they had insurance no big.
Then a few months later some lady driving a medical supply PT Cruiser dropped her cig on her lap and slammed on the brakes and i barely nudged the back end of it when i stopped, no damages, not even a scratch to either car, but she flipped and calle dthe cops. One of the cops was my buddies older brother and explained to her that since she was carrying oxygen and they would include that in the report, that she'd better drop it if she wanted to keep her job. So no big there.
Then about two weeks after that i was driving home from work with my cousin and some guy in an f-150 slammed into the back of my car while i was stopped at a stoplight. Completely destroyed the front end of his f-150 it couldn't even drive off. Bent my trunk a bit so it had a bubble. No frame damage.
I had a manifold/intake i'm not sure exactly what issue and spent 1800 on getting a new engine for it, and two weeks after i got my car back, the day before i was set to get new tires, i'm been burning out a quite alot that day. and was heading from ones friends house to anothers. I was doing about 70 in a 50 with a gto weaving in and out of traffic like i always did, when i noticed it was sprinkling so i started slowing down and as i was going over an overpass, i must've hit an oil spot for another accident of something but my back end just came out and hit the side shoulder. Car was FWD btw. So i over corrected but since my tires were practically bald i ended up losing control. When i looked up i realized i was about to drive off of the overpass ~20ft up. so i turned into the divider wall and the car did a back flip. I had to crawl out the back windshield sinc ethe doors were bent shut. I was fine, the GTO driver came back and helped me out. No ticket, the cops blamed it on the street lights being out and it being a blind corner.

The other story is. With the money i got from that wreck i got a 04 Regals LS which though i did nothing to, it had the 3.8 that's in the V6 camaro/firebird, i could keep up with a 04 Mustang GT from 0-100. And could burn out to my hearts content. Well 8 months after the first wreck, I was heading home since i'd spent the night studying at a friends house. I live about 30 miles away. And i was doing 70 in a 65 and some old lady ran a red as i was approaching the intersection and i hit the back end of her car. Totalled both.
and i'll add those pics as soon as i track them down.

The crashed Camaro pictures make me cringe thinking about my car, an Onyx Black 1998 M6 Z28.

She has had one run-in with the curb while my brother was driving (no one else will ever drive my car again!) and I plan on NEVER selling her and becoming one of those people who regret selling their classic muscle cars.

My 1978 Trans Am:

These are photos that were taken of it when it was shipped to me from Ohio. You have no idea how excited I was to get this car - it was my dream car. Sadly, pictures are very deceiving. When I got it, it stalled out on me the moment it came off the trailer. Must've been a carb issue. It had a lot of rust and overall was a bondoed up basketcase. It broke my heart, I worked a year to get a '78 Trans Am, but I bought it on impulse. I let my naiveness and excitement get the best of me. I bought it for 11,000, which at the time would get you a nice, presentable driver. I didn't want or expect a show car. Next thing I know, sold it two months later for a paltry 4,500. I couldn't stand to see it sit in my yard anymore knowing I can't drive it. But now since then, I've saved 14,000+ and growing towards my new dream car: a 2010 Camaro, where nothing can go wrong and if it does, then it's on GM!

My dad gave me his 81 Z28 for my 16th birthday. We rebuilt the engine, trans, rear end. Put new suspension and brakes on it, and repainted the car. I loved it. It wasn't fast by today's standards, but it was respectable at the time. About 6 months later I was waiting to turn left at a light, got my green arrow and proceded to turn. What seemed like out of nowhere I hear screeching tires and look over to see a 1st gen S10 barreling at me with the tires turned and locked up . He had swerved around another car (that was patiently waiting for her green light), ran the red light and hit me. He slid off to the side of the road. I got spun around 180 deg. I had to get stiches in my lip from the steering wheel, but otherwise wasn't hurt. The car was totalled and I got virtually nothing from the insurance company. the engine and drivetrain were still good, so I bought it back and put the engine/trans/rear into an S10 (ironically), and made a sleeper truck.

Not my car or anything, but I read about a man who bought a Ferrari Enzo w/ a totalled front end, fixed it, and is now driving it around.

Some guys sure know how to lay the cheese down on a black car! Was it a real SE, WS6, L78, M21 car?

I'm sure you know now better then anyone else. That's why people have to go look at cars in person before buying them if possible. When my dad and I were looking around for our project chevelle we saw a couple of really nice pictures, but when we saw the car in person it was nothing like it was advertised.

BAM! - bi

Bambi jumps out infront of me with the malicious intent of scratching my bumper!!!!

obviously a lamborghini enthusiast.

Well the Chaps and I were rather down for a few days, but we got over it with a spot of Earl Gray.

A tick over 13.0 sec. and you're through the quarter-mile. It's a rush, of course, but not overly dramatic. Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."
