I thought I had read that before. I've seen people supercharge the Z06 LS7 though... hmmm.....

i'd feel much better running 10.5psi into 9.1:1 chambers with thicker cylinder walls than 11:1 chambers with thin walls. the LS9 uses 4.065 pistons as opposed to 4.125s in the LS7

Like Zebra said.
There are RWD cars that do fine on the road race. This is an AMERICAN muscle car. We WANT it to be RWD. I bet awd wasn't even though about.

It has been beaten to death and then stomped on several times but the LS7 in the capacity that we know it today will not make it to a Camaro.

That being said many things have been talked about with great certainty up until now. At present GM is faced with a great deal least of which is the Z/28. That being said the LSA was slated to be the next contender for the upcomming Z but with the current (unrightful stigma) supercharged muscle cars atract I think GM might consider other alternatives.

I for one would have loved an LSA in a Camaro, but I would ever more interested in a lighter more nimble Camaro vis a vis an LS7 variant. Yes I am aware that the LS7 is supposedly out the door but consider the fact that putting a 520 hp variant with wet sump and more standard internals in replacement of the LSA and you would not only have a high powered contender but it would inherently weigh much less, possibly cost less to manufacture and more than likely be able to beat the gas guzzler tax if the Camaro could loose a little weight.

In my own estimation and trying to be reasonable I could see GM giving us a 427 Z/28 with a lighter front and even rear seat option that was a little more supportive(maybe just with alcantra inserts), light weight wheels with better rubber. Improved shocks, an aero package.

Make a 550hp beast, I'll buy it, price won't be an issue

As someone above said we can definitely be happy with what we did get though. Enjoy!
It's good to see you back camero. Thanks for chiming in

P.S. in a Z28 I personally would be looking a long way PAST "perfectly acceptable".

I didn't suggest that it be ONLY AWD!

Do they ONLY make a V6?

Do they ONLY make a V8?

How about a little imaginative inspiration!!!!!

Yeah. You're right there about the V6 and V8.
I still think it will never happen. AND, I hope it doesn't.
We're talking about the Z28 here.

i'd be all about a z28 that was basically a M6 SS with manual seats/locks/windows/mirrors, OnStar/xm delete, cloth interior, & a few lighter-weight panels (like hood, trunk, roof, floor pans, etc)
I thought the hood was already aluminum, don't know how much lighter they could get and still keep it cost effective.
