Steering weight/effort
Hey guys, read through quite a few threads but didn't really see this discussed. Just curious about the steering weight/effort on my 2010. It seems pretty heavy to me with only moderate accuracy. I do have the JDP inserts, which certainly helped, but the accompanying weight of the system doesn't seem to be proportional to accuracy. If I'm being honest, I just wish the steering was a bit lighter feeling with not as much effort. In just casual driving, it just isn't very comfortable at all. I'm comparing this with say my brother in laws 5.0 and some Mustangs I've had in the past. Any comments/suggestions? (besides hitting the gym)

Stock wheel/tire sizes. Just installed a set of the Firestone Indy500's. Love them. We haven't gotten it on the alignment rack just yet but the wear on the old tires was pretty consistent and even.

It ios waaaaaaaay past time I updated the alignment specs on our web page. Have your 5th Gen aligned to my JPSS Street Specs. They will be there i a day, two at the most.

Just a quick update...the only spec that was out on the front was the left toe and it was at .25(the right was at .04). Tech dialed it back to .10. I've not driven it to see if it had any impact but I'm not expecting much from that. JusticePete, not that this has anything to do with this topic but I'm getting ready to get one of your rear magic bars with necessary hardware. Hopefully combine this with some some cradle bushings to tame the rear of this thing a bit.

What specs did you have them align too?

Well, the only thing he did was pull that one side back to 10. He just had a quick second to get the basic data. After I get the rear cradle work done, he is actually going to re-align everything according to your street specs.

What is the drawback to running more aggressive settings? Such as maxing out the front caster? Just harder on the tires I assume?

Caster will not wear the front tires. The 5th Gen is a bit unusual in that we can push the front specs a bit and still get good tire wear. We think that is because it pushes do much, when you reduce the push with a more aggressive alignment you reduce tire wear from pushing. Call it a trade-off.

Toe can go to 0.00 with no additional tire wear.
Camber can go -1.25 with no additional tire wear
Caster -- adding a full degree is pure magic
