Sounds like a driving habit issue. Sport mode is definitely going to give you worse economy, due to staying in gears longer. You can put it in D and get pretty descent milage if you take it easy. But this is not the funnest way to drive.

Try taking a highway trip and see if your gas mileage is worse on the highway as well. If it is you know its not driving habits..

I'll try keeping it in D mode and see if it helps. Your right, with this car "taking it easy" is definitely not the funnest way to drive....lol. Thanx for the input.

Yeah, was going to try that as soon as I can take a highway trip long enough to properly evaluate this. Thanx for the input.

Excuse my lack of knowledge, but about putting the fuses back. I pushed them down until they "stopped". Do they stop when they are poperly seated..?? or Can I have pushed them down too far..?? They are sitting lower than the one's around them. I gently pushed down on some other ones and they seated lower also. Again, sorry if it's a stupid question. Just wanted to play it safe.

I think some other guys had the same issue. You are not going to hurt them by seating them all the way.

I noticed the same thing after the fuse pull. I was also in M most of the time. Then I realized that I was driving much more agressively than I had been, especially when starting out from a stop because the jerkiness had gone away. when I realized this I kept driving agressively anyways because I did not buy the SS for it's good gas mileage, I bought it for the fun factor. I love it when you press the pedal down and it downshifts three gears. The tapshift will get you even less mileage. It is a good doodad but not of much use. I tried it at the dragstrip and turned my worse time with it.

Just to be clear you were in Sport not Tap Mode right? Were you running on a downhill gradient? I've done this a couple times, both in the same location at WOT and going downhill. The stock settings seem to be weak on the pressure/shift time side allowing the shift to take too long. If the above conditions do not exist I would definitely let the dealer know. Hell, it shouldn't do it regardless.

Not in tap shift mode & not downhill. Talked to dealer today and he said keep an eye on it because if there is no code he cant find the problem.

Okay...How many miles on your car? I ask this because the tranny has adaptive learning and "should" increase the shift time. I suggest doing the same thing you did the first time a few more times. The tranny may need to learn a bit more.

Not sure if this is the right place to post this so let me know if it needs to move.
SS/RS L99. 1600+ miles on odometer. Oil changed at 1500 and oil life reset. I was expecting a "different" car as some have likened it to "waking" up. The car has been driven within the manual guidlines of varying RPMs, staying below 4K. My issue is this car has a dead spot when you throttle up. Dead spot can be felt from idle, 1000, 2000, 3000 RPMs. The dead spot happens in Drive or Park, doesn't matter. Tried the fuse pull overnight and that had no effect. Is or has anyone here having the same issue??

When you refer to "dead spot" are you saying that it hesitates when you hit the throttle..? My car is doing just that. when I punch it, it hesitates then it takes off. It feels like it boggs down then it'll rev back up and launch. It'll do it in D or M. My 06 Tahoe Z71 would do it also whenever I would floor it to try and accelerate quickly. But i wouldn't expect my maro to perform like that... It does it from a dead stop or while driving. Is anyone experiencing this as well...? When I first did the fuse pull, it took care of it, but now it's back.

Is the "dead spot" a delay while the car is downshifting? Or is there a time delay in throttle response even if the car does not change gears? Or is there just no response in certain zones or ranges of the gas pedal position, like a bad TPS?

I can't help, but I just am trying to understand the exact symptom.
