My New Dome Lights
Just got my dome lights finished.
They are LED, so they're super white color, and they actually light up the interior and even the outside pretty well! They are millions times brighter than the stock bulb, and brighter than the other LED kits out there, and cheaper too. The whole project cost me a total of $26.36. These are the lights I used: http://www.virtualvillage.com/1-42-l.../sku002511-075 Basically any circuit board type works great. I chose these cause they're a good size and cheap. However, they are slightly too big, but ok. The worst part is they took a couple weeks for me to get, not too happy about that. But either way, they look great and are super bright! Required modifying the stock light housing a bit, but all for the better! Plus, if you've seen any of my other posts, you know I like to, and have no problem modifying my $36k car to make it the way I want it to be!

The lighting looks awesome. Looks alot brighter than stock. Does the lighting fade on/off like factory? Can't wait to try this.

Nice mod - even though there are sooo many LEDs they don't look harsh from the pics you took. The LED mod from aacstyle seems a more stark than your - perhaps its because your mod diffuses the light better.

It does. I just took one out of my denali and put it in and it fades in and out just fine. I have a miniature wedge 1 watt SMD LED from http://superbrightleds.com/
I'll post a picture shortly.

Yes it does fade in and out like factory. When they are the dimmest, they are about as bright as the factory light, and a couple levels better is about as bright as other LED conversion kits, and then it gets bright!
I probably wont do a write up on it, if I did it again, i'd get some other lights. These are a little too big, so I had to do a little more modifying than I intended. The length of these is great, but a little too wide. To get these to fit, I had to modify the switch, the switch panel, the clear cover, and the light housing. A little much. These measure 50 x 40mm [2 x 1.6"], so 50 x 30ish would be better. Depending on the LED panel size, it will require different modifications. Basically all you do is take the light apart, and figure out how to mount them. I used the double sided tape that came with them, and then glued them in place. I had to put a couple broken off pieces of the reflector (since its no longer used) in there to hold them up to just the right angle. They are angled slightly outward, and rearward, to aim at each front seat, as you can see in the pic below. Most of these panel type LED lights come with different socket adapters. Since our cars, for some odd reason, only came with one bulb, it will require you to splice the two LED panel wires together. As in the picture below. However, those quick connect splicers did not work well, so I ended up soldering the wires together.

those middle pics looks like the starting of a honor film...starring the Mustang and Challenger...wonder who dies first?
But in all seriousness, it adds a very nice ambiance (Speeling?!) to the car, looks very smooth.
