What could be wrong
My lock on The inside of the door is not working.
I had my brakes worked on recently and noticed it after I picked my car up but would replacing brakes and rotars Affect the locks on the inside of my car? I can use my key fob To lock and unlock the doors as the trunk but the switch on The inside of the car on the driver side won’t respond. Is it Something electrical? What could be wrong? Thanks in advance |

Electrical switch failed? Take it off. Spray contact cleaner try again. Replace switch

Take it back and tell them the door lock switch worked before you brought it in. However, if you feel uncomfortable with them tearing apart your door panel, just take it off yourself and repair/replace the door lock switch.

Just had the same problem with rear doors on my 2004 Chevy crew cab. Actuators had to be replaced. Unfortunately, my son didn’t know that the doors weren’t locking until some POS stole his backpack with his text books. Bastard!

Sounds like a switch and it is just a coincidence that you had brake work done and noticed it. I would just replace the switch, I can't imagine it's that expensive but I would also never guess the third brake light is $200 either so who knows.

check your fuses first if there is one for the door switch. that would a easy first check. if you need a electrical trouble tree for the door locks I have access to service information

If the lock works with the remote then it can't be the actuator or a fuse.
At least you can pull the handle once to unlock, and again to open.

I have a brand new door lock switch that I never installed if you think you have a bad switch. Just PM me your address.
