NOS window switch wiring
I installed a NX plate with LNC-2000 and NOS WOT/RPM window switch on my 2015 camaro and I'm down to my last two wires; the ignition and tps signal wires coming off the window switch. I believe pin #65 on the X2 ecm connector is the falling voltage TPS wire and gives a more consistent readout than pin #63 which is the rising TPS signal. For the ignition wire the NOS instructions say you can tap into the coil signal or tach signal. I have the raptor dual mode shift light already soldered into pin #75 which is ignition signal for coil #5 can I just splice into that wire?

If anyone can understand my terrible drawing and tell me if this looks right I'd appreciate the feedback.
EDIT: This is my final wiring diagram for anyone who may need this info later Last edited by htde90; 02-17-2019 at 10:17 AM. |

it looks good. you can pull power from the coil. tps signal I usually pulled from the pedal. I can't remember which color wire it was.
only thing I would change is switch to a steady state relay for the solenoids. wire them both together if using them on a window/wot switch. use a steady state relay for each individually if you plan on using a progressive. for nitrous stuff we tend to put a small delay on the nitrous solenoid to help with the lean spike

Thanks! Just swap to Hella solid state relay?

yes sir. they react much faster since there are no moving parts. I used the nos brand since they come with the pigtail. wiring can be found for the $10 amazon ones on sloppy mechanics wiki

On the nitrous express relay there are 4 wires, one to 12V power, one to the nitrous solenoids one to ground and one to the WOT. The NOS solid state relay is only 3 wire, how does that work?
EDIT: I found the wiring diagram. it removes the ground from the relay. Last edited by htde90; 02-14-2019 at 11:27 AM. Reason: found answer |

You could trigger the LNC from the NOS controller. That way you could keep the system armed and not constantly pull timing while just driving around. The Autometer peak afr wasn't much help for me. It would record the lean spike with the initial hit. Logging provided better info. I used diodes on my relays and TVS devices on the solenoids to suppress the flyback voltages when the coils de-energize. I do not know the pin numbers, but used the falling edge signal from the tps for wot, purple or green wire, can't remember. And the blue with white trace wire on passenger side coil harness for the tach. Not sure if those will work with the NOS controller, the MSD controller did not with the tach from what I've read.

I used the tvs devices on the solenoids but nothing on the relays. Green wire is falling edge signal and that’s what I used. I just used the dark green wire for coil #5 to get ignition signal since I already tapped into it for my shift light. I was thinking the LNC only pulled timing above the rpm set point, but the rpm settings are for launch control.

Ok I switched to the NOS solid state relay and now as soon as I put the ground to the battery it’s engaging the solenoids but there’s no power to the NOS window switch. What did I do wrong? Orange wire to battery, blue wire to green wire of solenoids, black wire to red wire of NOS window switch.

you have the relay wired correctly if that's how it's wired. the trigger wire off the relay needs to go to the output of the window switch. not sure what that wire is on the window switch? it shouldn't trigger unless above x rpm and when the window switch is on.

I’m wondering if the NOS window switch doesn’t work the way the relay needs it to

your solution would be take the black and put it to ground. take the orange and put it to the red output wire of the window switch.

Thanks! I was wondering if the orange relay wire was going to have to get 12V from the window switch but I didn’t know what to do with the relay signal wire then. Should have known just ground would work. Would I need an in-line fuse coming off the window switch or is a fuse coming off the battery to the arming switch sufficient?
