New Cam w/Future Boost
Ok, so I'm thinking about getting an MTI stage 2 or 3 cam here soon. I've been reading talk of needing a special cam if you end up boosting in the future. I guess I'm trying to see if anyone knows if those cams are boost capable or not. Would like to supercharge.

I don't see the specs of the MTI cams on the website. You might want to call the guys at MTI and let them know what you are planning to do and see if they have any dyno testing to support whether these cams are good for boost applications.
In general though, an NA engine relies on vacuum to fill the combustion chamber so NA engines typically like a cam with more overlap (LSA in the 108-113 range). A boosted engine forces air into the combustion chamber and typically will generate more boost pressure with less overlap (LSA in the 112-116 range). This is all generally speaking and the big time cam grinders do a lot of research in determining what grinds work best with what applications.

Yes you can definitely run a SC cam without the SC. In fact, companies like TSP have dyno results for boosted cams in NA applications and show that a similar stage boost cam vs. it's NA counterpart (i.e. stage 2 NA vs stage 2 boost) show about a slight reduction in HP and TQ if not boosted, but they outperform the NA cam once boost is added. Many people run a boosted cam without boost because they plan to add boost later.

You can definitely do a camshaft in preparation for your supercharger. Just plan it out so you don't end up doing it twice

Yeah it feels like I am doing it a little backwards in that respect. My tuner said my cam would work well with a centri, so thats a big reason I went with the LOD intake and 2" headers, to just start taking steps in that direction. Didn't originally think I'd be headed this way but so it goes, right Pepe?

The F1-X Procharger. Each modification that I do, I want room for growth, especially in the higher rpm range. Which are you leaning towards?

From Procharger, I was mainly interested in the stage 2 tuner kit that comes with the P-1SC-1 supercharger. It doesn’t seem as robust as the F1-X for sure but I like that it can be upgraded as well. I was also looking at another member’s setup that had a Torqstorm setup. He seemed to be very pleased with it and made some great numbers. I like the idea of doing certain things on a budget but i’m Not sure if I want to skimp here. I still have some thinking to do. I’d say I’m about a year out from pulling the trigger though since I need suspension and drive line work to handle the power and I want to get some NA times at the track when it gets cool again before adding boost.

NA cams work well with centrifugal sc's and turbos
