I called Helm today and was assured they are bound volumes. So I ordered. I'll post an update if it turns out they are not as-promised.

Glad to hear it, I wonder why they added that disclaimer about looseleaf? I bet that's costs them some sales. Nobody wants 900 loose pages to keep track of.
