Unfortunately I didn't have the time or money to built the top end to suit the 416. But.... that's what I did this winter. Custom grind cam, FED heads, Johnson 2116lsr lifters. Dyno day is next week...

Low lash.... still hydraulic. .040 preload with .093 total travel. There is absolutely no valve train noise... crazy quiet.

Im curious to see how you make out with that Airaid MXP. Like you, I was running the Z28 CAI on my 440ci. Turns out I was pulling vacuum up top. My tuner told me the Z28 was definitely the intake restriction.. I have a NW 102, and Ported Mamo MSD on the car already, so the Z28 is definitely the weak link. He was only seeing about 90 kpa
He recommended that we switch to the Roto-Fab dry kit due to their good experiences with it, but looking at that massive intake tube on your Airaid, has me wondering if that might have been the better choice. Good luck, that thing is going to run great

Car sounds great, cant wait to see the dyno results. What FED heads are those?
The valve train gets quiet when you only have a little travel left in the lifter, its so nice.

Question for Clark & STALKER: did you try taking the air filter off to see if there was less vacuum? Curious if the GM filter is more restrictive than aftermarket filters
