Steve just got a phone call from our dealer, Mike. He said he just got an email back from the factory.

Drum roll.....

Said we will be getting our vin on Friday 10/30. He said our delay is because we ordered an automatic.

Also informed us that we can track our vehicle by going to chevy.com and looking under my dealer..........We've Never heard of this before....an I don't think anyone else has eithe.



Our dealer is an @$$ hole.

I just checked Spastic Squirrel and of the last page (newest) vins listed there....the majority of them are automatics. Of course they are a day or so behind....but I don't really see any big shortage of automatics.

I still find it hard to believe he emailed the factory, rather than phoning GM.


The dealer also told Steve about the last few cars he's gotten in...supposedly in the last couple of weeks. .....according to spastic squirrel he hasn't gotten any in since 9/27....so he lied about those as well.

I just want to get the car, sign the papers and get away from this dealer...

I would hate to have a dealer like that... And like I said before

on the chevy web site i believe the dealer meant... to search for your car for your area and see if its assigned to your dealership yet... some people have done this before as means of "tracking" but it doesnt do anything unless the car is built and invoiced to the dealer... then you might see an update on the website... and its under "locate car"...
it really is not efficient and silly to look there...

best thing to do atm is go thru gm cs support or viz...
now...
quick fyi for gm cs...
some will give you your vin willingly... and some will tell you go to your dealer and wont tell you they can see your vin already... (happened to me)...
tell them you need your vin for financing and insurance purposes and they are more likely to give it to you then...

I tried this the other day, told them I needed the vin for getting the car loan....the guy wouldn't give me any information at all.

I'll wait for Viz to post tonight, hopefully he might have something for us....we are still in our TPW....so we aren't really late at this point. I know I'm just overly anxious.

You must have taken it. I want it, it's ours....

Steve is thinking maybe the dealer is just blowing smoke because we didn't take the manual he had on the lot. :( Probably why he delayed entering our order for almost a week....and why he doesn't return our phone calls.


I must really want this car to put up with this BS...
