How long can I keep the car on jack stands with suspension unloaded
Alright so I have searched and went through all of the posts regarding anything close to this and they were all about winter storage. I just want to make sure I won't damage anything so anyone that could help me with this one I would appreciate it.
I am going to be putting in my Trailing Arm outer bushings as well as my strange s5090s and upgrading to the BMR Xtreme Anti Roll Bar. Due to having my car outside for over a year (a couple months where I live and then it spent a while at the shop) my aftermarket suspension components have a little rust on them. I finally have a garage where I can store her so no need to worry about that anymore. While I have the car in the air I would like to take the parts off and paint them. I would be leaving the car on quick jacks in my garage. How long (if any amount of time) would it be possible to leave the car in the air with the suspension unloaded? Would have to do the painting around the weather. Shouldn't be more than a week but just want to see what the consensus is. Thanks in advance!

i wouldnt think it should be any problem,as long as you place the jacks correctly.

Ok the only things you have to worry about would be the struts/shocks getting rust on the shiny area.Put some lube on them to prevent rusting.
The second thing would be to make sure you have the stands in the correct location and they are stable with the correct or higher weight rating. Other then that I don’t see a problem. |

Just keep on mind you MUST clock the bushings when you are done.

As far as the stands I will be using 5,000 lb quick jacks. Work lovely in my little garage. Appreciate the help That is a definite. But thank you for adding that in there! That is one of the reasons why I had started this project. Wanted to make sure the bushings were clocked and would be installing the outer T/A bushings as well. Definitely one of the most important steps that often gets looked over.
