I always wondered.
Whatever happened to my Gen5 after I traded it for a BMW in 2018. Guess the new owner wasn't a very good driver.

It doesn't seem like you're that sad about it.

Seriously bummed. I put a lot of heart and soul into that car. It's water under the bridge now, sad to see it only lasted about a year after I sold it.
Can't remember all the upgrades, I sold the suspension and gave away most of the other upgrades before I traded it. But it still had the MRT exhaust, the Vmax, custom wheels, and you know... the catch can was worth at least $500! Wish I would have retained the vintage "RS" logo I got from my brother-in-law (who has a '67) but it was integrated. The salvager should make a tidy profit on what is left. I HATE working on the BMW, but the handling is worth it.

You got that right. The vert top alone with it's machinery would be around $1500(along with the cost of piece of mind having a backup).

Man, sucks to see how you took care of that car for so long only for the new owner to destroy it in a year. Of course it could have been the other driver's fault, but still. That sucks.
It's like finding out your favorite ex-girlfriend has gonorrhea. Ok...it's nothing like that.

Full leather interior. Premium sound (Boston) with sub. Seriously miss the HUD. I think the engine only had about 70k. Nothing wrong with the transmission... I could see how someone could make some decent money buying wreaked cars.

I only traded it because I didn't like the ride. I did a full suspension front/rear upgrade with a minor drop, and didn't like it. Seemed to suffer every flaw in the road and just didn't seem as solid.
In hindsight, I think the wheels may have contributed to the issue. Even after I returned the suspension to factory, it still didn't feel like original, or very good, to me. Drove me crazy (pun intended). Now I wish I would not have skimped on the wheels, and got something better. I had the factory wheels powder-coated black, but sold them shortly after "upgrading" to chrome wheels. Factory wheels were probably better quality. Live and learn. Miss that car otherwise. Probably should have left well-enough alone.

Good to see you back in here.
Same thing happened to my old #23. Except it had a new motor and a LOT more HP before it got wrapped around a pole. |
