2013 LFX Performance Engine Internals
I have a 2013 camaro with 110,000 miles on it, still runs and drives great!
I have always been curious about supercharging the v6 in this car, i feel like it could be a lot of fun. I have boosted another vehicle prior (2000 2.2l Gmc Sonoma) so i am not too inexperienced. I already have a full exhaust, cold air intake, throttle body and intake manifold replacement on the way. I have been looking through the internet for a while though and have not been able to find much for performance engine internals on this engine, does anyone have any links to cams, heads, pistons, rods, or anything else i would need for a full engine rebuild in the future, i want to see how much horsepower i can safely get out of a built v6. I have considered supercharging it as it is but im not entirely sure if it would be safe considering it has over 100k miles. Either way i will eventually try to build it and am trying to see what options i have to build it. Thanks! |

Mace Engineering has forged pistons and rods (and cams and valve springs). Don't know of anyone that makes any other forged/better-than-OEM parts (valves, valve steals, crankshaft, rockers, etc.).
I believe Overkill Will said the LFX can handle ~10 PSI boost (~400 - 450 WHP) with stock internals. Not sure what the "weak link" is in this engine. There are a couple of guys on here that had/have twin turbo kits pushing ~600 - 700 WHP so perhaps reach out to them (djcolopi and GretchenGotGrowl).
