Coolant flush question
I'm in the process of doing a coolant flush on my 2011 SS. I've drained and refilled with distilled water about 5 times. Now it's draining out pretty clear.
I know that there's still some stuff in the system, as our cars hold 3 quarts, but I'm not able to put in the full 3 quarts. So, my question is if I'm trying to achieve a true 50/50 mix, about how much percentage of coolant should I really be mixing with distilled water? Should I over compensate with a little more coolant than water (since it's draining pretty clear)? Or would I be safe just mixing 50-50 still? |

You are safe just mixing 50-50 and running it until it's full. I doubt you deal with -10° weather where a 60/40 water/coolant mix would be. Boiling points are negligible between these ratios.

Yeah I wouldn't overthink it to much. Just be sure to burp it afterwards and check the temp regularly afterwards...
