If it wasnt for GM Holden Australia, the Camaro wouldn't exist at all.. dont forget that. GM USA killed the camaro and had no RWD platform to build the new one on.

As for roof height - Australian engineers needed to increase the roof height in order to meet FMVSS (US) regulations for head swing and roll over.

The design is actually extremely well optimized (designed to be barely legal)- had it been designed in the US i think the roof would have ended up higher - the US engineers at GM aren't known for executing well optimized cars.
So, when will all these new regulations be required ona ll cars and how will this affect the weight of competitors cars that will need to be reworked?

i like the sound of barely legal...and if thats the best that was legally possible then kudos to the Australian engineers

Saw the camaro part last night, I'll watch teh whole thing tonight. Very interesting, never really thought about it but it is surprising that Wagoner still has a job.

I still haven't seen the whole show.

I'll pay to ship the DVD or wait for an upload if someone is feeling like posting it.

Thanks!

One thing is still true about legacy and the domestics: They still will not build the suspension to be tight like a German performance ride. There is a huge amount of controlled body role on the G8, and the Camaro, as was pointed out in the videos, has a large amount of "unneccessary" body role.

But Pedders USA already has the Camaro parts. Driving a TrackII G8 is a fantastic event and transformation. The Camaro will be even more of a transformation.

you wanna know why? because normal people that they are aiming this car to want a car that can handle but doesn't beat them to a pulp driving around town hitting pot holes.

and that's why I've been wanting them to make the Z with a road race suspension more then a supercharger. but I know that I'm just going to have to go aftermarket with that suspension setup. . .
