You have to graduate college or grad school.

I pretty sure.....Yes....if you are signed up in courses and working towards a Associates or Bachelors at the time you purchase the car. I think you may have to apply through GM's web site before picking up the car but I heard that they take your Student ID and verify if you are in school. If so you get the thumbs up.

However, I'm not postive on that. That's just what I've heard. So, I would tell you to talk to your dealer or keep asking around.

You have to be a Matriculated student in a College or have graduated from college within the past 2 years. In addition I believe you have to be 18 or older. There is a list of schools you pick from a drop down box when signing up for the GMU discount. Once you are approved, you are given an authorization code that you take to the dealer. Dealer participation is optional. Just because you are approved does not mean your dealer has to give you the discount.

Hope this helps.

Well first it isn't a student discount, it is a COLLEGE GRADUATE Discount!

To get the graduate discount you have to be 18 or older AND either A) graduated no more then 2 years ago from a four-year bachelor's degree, a registered nursing degree, a two-year associate's degree or a graduate degree program or B) with 6 months of graduating from one of the above. Also a diploma or the graduating papers that you have to fill out when it is time for you to graduate has to be provided to the dealer along with the printed authorization code from the website.

Nope. Once you signed the papers there is no getting the discount money back. Very few dealers are accepting the discounts right now so most likely you didn't get it because they wasn't accepting them.

My dealer (Trapp Chevrolet in Houma, Louisiana) does not accept the college discount on Camaros or Corvettes. It goes towards everything else, though.

That is incorrect. You do not have to be a graduate. Current college students can get the discount. See below.

Who is eligible to participate in the GM College Discount Program?
Eligible participants include college students (from any two- or four-year school), recent graduates who have graduated no more than two years ago, and current nursing school and graduate students. An eligible customer must produce one of the following:
Evidence of enrollment in an associate, undergraduate, nursing or graduate degree program.
A diploma dated no more than two years before the vehicle purchase or lease, from a four-year bachelor's degree, a registered nursing degree, a two-year associate's degree or a graduate degree program.
