I've got 3 vehicles insured with Grundy. Agreed value, no mileage restrictions. I've never had to make a claim but they've been very efficient cashing my checks for the last 20 years.

Will either of these insurance companies (Hagerty/American Collectors) insure a vehicle you still owe money on? Will finance companies accept it as coverage? I fully expect to put less than a thousand miles a year on my second Camaro. I hate to pay full price for insurance on a vehicle that's not driven much. Years ago Farmers had a storage coverage but I can't get that on a vehicle that is financed anymore.

So the part that says how many miles will this car be driven, 3k is the threshold. I just put 50k/100k for coverage. I think that's still overkill... just trying to make a dollar out of 15 cents here. Lol

Must vary on agent cause my State Farm agent does cover most mods at no charge (won't cover engine mods like cams and FI) as long as I keep receipts.

Everything on my end is oem. Only thing aftermarket exterior wise are my ZL1 rockers, ZL1 addons splitter, z28 spoiler. Those are inexpensive. . My main concern would be the S/C and engine/trans.

Yeah Geico has a separate category for each thing like suspension, engine, transmission, exterior mods and etcetera. After you do the first list with the agent you can then manage your parts value online.

I called American Collectors today, lady wasn't the nicest ( always have great people when I called hagerty ). She said absolutely no racing and she was wondering why I thought I needed specialty insurance, she even said did I really think mine would be collectable one day. Any way they were $100 more than Hagerty, I'll be staying with Hagerty.

And regardless of what I declare, it's what's owed on the car that matters to the finance company. But Farmers doesn't do storage anymore. At least not here. I've had them since the 1980s. |

After reading this, I got a Haggerty quote. I will be switching from American Family in the spring. Same $ per year to drive whenever I want as I paid for storage this year and only 2 months of driving coverage.

Keep in mind these guys DO look at your social media. If they see racing or anything else they deem to be policy breaking they will cancel you. I've seen it happen.
Simple solution is don't use your name as a user name on any message boards. And don't register with your real name.

That's good to know. I assume you saved money by using Hagerty versus a regular insurer?

For the guys and gals and everything in between that has hagerty etc.,what $$ amount do you guys cover the car for and monthly. If you want to add the coverage amounts that's kool too. I know it'll vary state to state, age, etc.

40,000 on the Camaro, 15,000 on the ‘72 K20, guaranteed payout. (Hagerty has notified me a couple times that I should up the payout on the 72 as it’s likely under valued currently but I haven’t done it yet. 67-72 Chevy trucks are stupid over priced these days) Monthly is like $87. I don’t remember the coverage amounts and fine details of the policy off hand but I believe the the total premium is right around 1K a year total- with coverage amounts higher than the minimum NM requires. The deductible is $250 if I remember right. Seems pretty fair to me.
