Living in the trunk is the best thing for a battery its away from all the engine heat which is a real battery killer.

Mine is also a 2010 and I still have the original battery in mine. Although, I stumbled on this thread because I had searched “best” battery for a 2010 SS Camaro. I started the car yesterday after sitting for 3 weeks, and it was a bit hesitant along with the date display being a couple days off. I think it’s slowly dying on me. She sits for 1-4 weeks at a time normally with no issues. I think 13’ish years on the original battery is pretty damn good though! 😉

Just replaced the original battery on my 2012 SS I've had since June 2012. Bought a Die Hard H7 AGM, 850 CCA from Advance. Not bad for an OEM battery lasting close to 10.5 years. Maybe I get the same life from this Die Hard as from the OEM battery.

Your fortunate that you had some advance notice on the battery.
My 2014 OEM battery failed last December just all of a sudden during a cold snap. I have had good luck with Advance Auto Parts and a DieHard. It was relatively to easy replace in the trunk well. Good Luck ! |

keep them on battery tender when not driving and the battery life will continue.

Finally replaced my battery last week. Got the car in Feb of 2014, so a little over 9 years on the original. I was getting worried about being stranded, so I figured to be safe, not sorry.
I did notice the following tho... On the old battery, it always seemed to be between 14 and 15 volts on the voltmeter gauge and DIC, so matter how many miles I drove after starting it. On the new battery, immediately after starting, the voltmeter (gauge as well as DIC display) will read around 14.5 V. After driving for a block or so, the volts go down to 12.5 - 12.6 and never move above or below those two numbers. Pretty rock steady reading. Makes me think the old battery was pretty much always needing more than 14 volts to keep it happy. It never let me down over the 9+ years tho. The engine cranks the same with the new battery as it did with the old. Not sure if this is telling me anything or not!
