Reddit has a huge community, very active.
https://www.reddit.com/r/assettocorsa/

A lot of mod sites out there, linked from reddit, and also found in a Google search.

Steam has a pretty big community also, but I find reddit easier to deal with.

Got on Reddit and eventually got sidetracked by something shiny...

You may have to tell us more about the mods. I've had it for years and used to play it more, but got away from it, now getting back in after I saw Roberts sweet setup.

The have quite a few new tracks I see, and got a Mustang in the software update, but it just keeps running off the track.....
Are mods paid for by earning points, or is it literally paying for it. I do a race game on my iPad where you earn points and race bucks for mods in a number of areas. I've got one car so maxed out it's purely on me if I lose a race.

Can one of you or both explain Steam, an or Reddit gaming. Please be gentle.... I raced the Mile, and I knew my community, this is all Greek to me.

You sound like the Egyptians I worked with.... Shiny new, (SQUIRREL).... I truly believe a previous more advanced race built the pyramids, or it was aliens.... You couldn't get those guys to walk from one side of the rig to another without getting distracted, and then lost....

I did WW2 warbirds type stuff online once, the trolls would circle the spawn airport and shoot me before I could get flying. Online auto racing can be similar I hear, so I stick with A I opponents, they're better than trolls... usually lol

In Assetto Corsa there are no mods to buy, but a GT3 car will have a ton of tuning options, (tires, gearing, suspension, aero, etc.) compared to a factory stock class. A I and opponent strength have more to do with winning or losing than tuning in the beginning. It seems there are 3 different A I driver types, the rookie that doesn't want you to scratch his car, (but he's still fast) the "Dale Earnhardt" that will try to crash you if you pass aggressively, and "Shumacher" in front of the pack and you never see him again after the race start, till you start getting better at the game or crank the opponent strength down lol

Steam seems to be an online game clearinghouse for developers, rather than buying a game in store you buy thru them. I'm sure there's more nefarious reasons for Steam, but I couldn't tell you what that is. They do tend to build packages for sale, for existing games, to keep them up to date, or add new cars and tracks.

Steam is a company that aggregates and manages PC games. You can buy/sell/gift games and DLCs. It is community based, and serves as a front end to many games. I'd say its the largest platform for PC gaming around.

Reddit is just "forums" per se. Dedicated sub Reddits marked as r/community name serve as communities for specific topics. Every major and most minor games will have a sub reddit. It is managed by the community. Has an up/down vote system.

Easiest way to find something on reddit is to google "whatever" reddit.

That big spinny thing isn't headed our way... Houston and North central Texas have been flooding for months, and we are still in a 5 year drought condition. Lakes are literally drying up and rivers have almost stopped flowing in some conditions.

I was hopeful a week ago, but it just drifted away. I hate to think of the potential damage, but we really need some substantial flooding to make any change to any of the lakes...

Amistad is 24% pool.
Medina Lake is 2.2 percent
Canyon Lake is 55%

The Guadalupe River, the feeder into Canyon Lake has actually stopped flowing in one area at the mouth of the lake.
We need a break... and unfortunately it will cost some major flooding....
Canyon is a reservoir for farmers downstream... It's critically low for flow out.
Amistad is on the Rio Grande and it also feeds farmers downstream.

Talk about throwing shade!

That's a big loss, but what's the saying about, you plant trees for the next generation?

Pecan shelled fruit is about the same price as beef now.

My mother in law used to shell pecans for us so we always had big bags of them. My neighborhood and school growing up was named Pecan Grove.

Lots of native pecan trees up here but harvest is sporadic, we tend to get late spring freezes that kill the fruit flowers. Still love the trees though just for their appearance and shade.
