Throttle body hesitation

Hello, Have two questions 1)I was wondering if anybody has had where you step on the gas an the car sputters before getting up to speed? I have cleaned the throttle body a couple of times.

2) Can I go from the original throttle body to a 102 mm throttle body and change the original MAP sensor to 3B sensor? The tuner said that engine couldn't have the volume of air without changing the intake manifold is this correct?

The car is a 2010 SS LS3 manual

Thank you in advance for responses.

Here is a link that will help. This is for a 103mm but pretty much the same concept.

https://gwatneyperformance.com/103mm...ow-much-power/

Have you tried a simple relearn yet to see what happens?

When the Camaro first came out this was a common issue. It's caused by stale air currents in the intake and the throttle body. Getting a ported throttle body similar to this one (https://jannettyracing.com/products/...2015-camaro-v8) will fix the issue and greatly increase throttle response.

A 102mm will not bolt on to the stock manifold so it will have to be replaced but there is no point unless you are planning on a bigger cam or running forced induction anyway.

Yep. Says it all right here in GPI's write up.
In conclusion, we have empirically validated our long-held position that a 103mm throttle body on an OEM LS3 intake manifold does not offer any performance benefits.

Not worth it unless you have a bigger manifold to help the TB work properly. Thanks Acutron.. Name: lod1.jpg

This is one of the FIRST mods I did, and it really did get rid of my throttle lag. Great investment. I have the VMAX unit on my Camaro, still..

Symptoms are so vague that you could have any number of problems. Is this something that it’s always done.

Why would you want to go to a 3 bar map sensor on a NA engine?

Good points gt. BlackBird1, I would recommend getting a good scan tool on it & see what is going on before randomly throwing parts at it.

Acutron42; Have you tried a simple relearn yet to see what happens? I have not done a simple relearn. I'll remove the battery cable to reset everything. Also I have no codes indicated on my code reader. I've already thrown money towards a new throttle body so that was a waste. But i am searching for 102 mm intake manifold so the throttle body isn't a total waste of money. I was thinking the 3 Bar map sensor would read more air in the original intake manifold to limit the throttle body hesitation but probably wrong about too. I do have many engine mods planned for the car in the near future. Thank you everyone for for your input and links.
sincerely,
BlackBird1

I would like to

This sounds more like miss from your very basic description of the issue.

MAP sensor reads pressure not air flow or volume. You won't be able to have a reading above 1 bar unless you have forced induction.
