Even if they vacuum it? As in a complete service? People should know about this!
A shop I used to work at, we wouldn't even touch it. Any sort of A/C work, we would ask if you ever used the stuff from parts store, if you said yes, we would turn you away because they would wreck our machines and we would have to get them repaired or replaced. The shop we used to refer you to if you did, had something special to more or less vacuum most of it out, but they would essentially tell you that you need to replace your whole A/C system so it's flushed out. We obviously took our chances if you just bought a vehicle and brought it to us for a recharge, but yeah, weird stuff

Not all parts store refrigerant has the sealer in it. Read the can. I’ve got several 12oz cans here that I use(d) on my manifold gauge set that are 134A only with no additives/sealers/oil etc.

Sounds like a good case for a class action law suit. (The parts store stuff)

Good luck with that. It was introduced by, the CARB folks, in this forsaken state. And while I'm on that subject, did you all know that 11 states have now adopted California's gasoline engine ban? It's silently going on while you sleep. There's a movement afoot to use these states as a de facto mandate. SEMA is doing their part to try and save our cars from the 'dustbin of history.'
