2010 has been sitting
Hey guys
So my 2010 has been sitting since around christmas. Had a bit of a health scare with an out of nowhere brain aneurysm while at work at the rough age of 37, go figure. All in all im pretty ok and almost back to normal with minimal side effects that are getting better every day for the most part. Aaaaaaaaanyway, ive been driving my daily bc its easier for me and quieter but im ready to get back behind the wheel. Not that my daily is so bad either. I fired the 2010 up last weekend. Didnt even need a jump, just a slow start and then she idled. Lots of popping from the exhaust and alot of lights on the dash. I also have a service stabilitrak notification. Definitely didnt have that when parked. im assuming its from sitting. Think I should just throw a battery in it? The battery isnt that old but the car doesnt get driven much and then it sat for about 4-5 months untouched at all. What do we think? I wanna start getting this badboy back into show shape but i want this ironed out before i go to a body shop for some paint work.

Not sure about the car, but I did want to wish you well and I'm very glad you are doing better.
Take care. |

Glad to hear you are doing better & wish you well also! When my car sat last summer the same thing happened. All kinds of weird stuff going on. I bought a CTEK MXS 5.0 float charger & in about 10 hours all was good.

Man glad you’re ok. I’m almost 37 and can’t imagine what I’d do in that situation. Glad you made it thru. Sounds like normal weak battery stuff to me. Get her charged up and I bet you’ll be ok.

Disconnect the battery and put it on a charger-and charge it-reconnect it and problem solved. If you charge it without disconnecting the battery in a case like this you may still have some issues. GM ECU's hate to be started with a low battery voltage.

+1 with all of the above suggestions, probably no need to replace the battery. Glad to hear you're overcoming the health challenge

Life is fragile. At any age. Batteries, by comparison, are a dime a dozen. I guess I'd say if you plan to drive it more, put a new battery in it. If it's gonna sit a little more, drive it some and-or put it on a trickle charger. Glad to see you dodged a bullet!

But since you felt compelled (and comfortable enough) to volunteer your health information, I feel compelled to ask, did you take Covid vaccines and boosters?
And for anyone wanting to call me out on "politics", spare me. It's not politics, it's LIFE!

My wife at the ripe old age of 42 had a massive brain bleed out of the complete blue. Combat medic in the USAF, non smoker, ran everyday, now has hemiparesis, so brother I am so happy you are better! This is why my car sits alot as well. Hard for her to get in and out of.
Sounds like a low voltage thing, either charge it or get a new battery and I think you'll be gtg! |
