I get what you guys mean. The SS has always had the bigger engine. But now its too late. the SS is what it is now. So now we need something to hit the next level. I love the heritage of the Z, but with heritage im only willing to go so far. I believe that this Gen shoudl set a new perspective on the Z. Big engine, little weight. Thats all Ill say.

Why do you say it's too late? Nothing stopping Chevy from bumping up the engine size in the SS....
The old SS cars had more than one engine Available a small one and a big one.. sometimes a couple different HP big ones. right now they have 2 engines already in the SS, what is to keep them from saying Ok that engine is now for the Z28 (with a modest boost in HP up to 450) and the LS7 will be the SS engine? then drop the AFM motor down to be the engine available in the Base model so us lowlifes can have a V8 too....

i dont really care what its called i just think we do need something to compete with the gt500(from the factory) i think zl1 would be a good idea too. throw the 7.0 in it with a more reasonable price than they were making them for the z06. or even something like a 7.2.

I don't think that the Z28 should be the supercharged model. Like others have said, I think it is better suited to having a beefed up handling package, stronger (naturally aspirated) engine, and as much weight reduction as can be reasonably done. A full carbon fiber body is probably out of the question, but fiberglass isn't. Lighter seats, less sound deadening, etc.

As for the ZL1, I can't picture one without an aluminum 427 (7.0L) engine.

Bring back the Z/28
2 packages...
1. Basic: great handling with LS3
2. Premium: great handling with LS7 or LS3+
