Engine Cover

I'm trying to see if my dealer is blowing smoke up my butt or what, but i have had a yellow engine cover ordered for about 2 months now and they keep telling me that its on back order. Can anyone confirm this for me, cause if they are on backorder how is people still getting them on their cars when they order the car. Just curious my dealer may be telling the truth i just need to confirm this please, so i can look further if needed.

Well they probably buy the color option when they buy the car instead of ordering it after they already have the car. I don't know about any back-order but just keep harassing them.

Just curious...what is the dealer charging for the painted enginecover? I would like to do the same thing, but am debating on just having a local body shop paint it rally yellow the same way. I'm assuming I could have it done myself cheaper.

My engine cover is in the attic. Granted the LS series engines are not the most beautiful but I tried to clean up what I could with leaving the cover off. The ADM CAI with powder coated intake tube and relocated MAF smoothed up the front big time. Removed the insulated black intake cover. Removed the washer bottle reservoir. Removed over 20 bar-code factory stickers that were everywhere. Reconfigured the fuel-rail and fuel feed line to the right side. And, relocated the warm heater hoses that went over the intake to the passenger side more out of sight. Just a different look.

You can get it done for roughly 50-100 bucks, my local shop did a great job.
