![]() I was thinking of something I'd like to say and I read your post. I could not have said it any better myself. Good job, ED! Quote:
![]() You can at least give me a "A = T" or something!!! ![]() Nah...I remember it too. I was sitting in the computer room...my son was a year old... And the computer room is now my 2nd sons room. (Time flies!!!)There was this Camaro that rolled out that brought tears to my eyes. It was PERFECT. I could NOT believe what I saw. I mean...I saw concept after design concept from anyone and everyone out there...and I never got any reaction from any of them. But, the silver concept literally brought tears to my eyes. Yeah...as corny as it may sound to some, it was that moving to me. I've never been moved to join websites....make posts...join in discussions...etc. I just saw a cool car way back and said "one of these days.l......" And then in 2000 it became a dream come true with my first Camaro. In 2002 I lived my dream of breaking away from dads "security umbrella" and went out on my own buying my first car ON MY OWN....a 2002 Z28...special ordered. In 2005, that car was put to rest by a 16 year old girl who snuck out of her house while grounded and took moms car...smashing it into my Z28. But, that put me into the dream I've always dreampt....a 2002 SS. Since 2002, it's been nothing but Camaros....going to SLP raceday in Ennis, joining SuperChevy in Houston for 3 years in a row...AND in San Antonio, searching for more info by joining countless sites....Z28.com, CamaroZ28.com, and one of them which only had about 100 members or so at the time (and has grown to over 21,000 members....thanks, Camaro5!!!). It's been TONS of info since then...and making new friends....and of course, meeting Scott for the first time in October of 2006 at the Texas State Fair. After that 1st real car show, I was hooked....I saw the silver concept in person and I was awe inspired. Scott, PERSONALLY, I thank YOU. First, I thank you for your friendship. You are truly a good person. YOU kept everyone going all these years. YOU did. I don't care about what anyone else says. If people just let things go, it could have died forever. But, there was this group of people...this following....that KNEW what the Camaro meant...and what the meaning behind Camaro meant. It's a family. And you kept it together all these years. You are to be commended. By EVERYONE. I pray that those at GM know how much of an asset you are to them. You are so much more than an "employee...." You honestly are the "Fbodfather." I don't care how much or how hard anyone else tries, your shoes can't be filled. And, with that, I'll wrap it up to say two final words. Thank you. ....... Do you realize how much that meant to me that you were there when I took delivery of my SS at Toms? I mean....my wife, Tom, Rick, and you...?? ...and you got to see my cry like a little baby.... ![]() I'll never forget it. I'm so thankful to be part of "da family." THANK YOU. |

Long time comin'I too went nuts when I first saw it. It was actually my turn to buy a car for me. When I saw the silver concept, it had allready been unveiled for about 6 months. In fact, I belive I saw the orange vert first. lol When the word came that they would produce it, I stopped my car search and told Bonnie to get what she wants because I was waiting on the 5th Gen Camaro. It was mid 2006 and she chose the Lexus. It was so hard waiting. Christmas 2006 came and all I could talk about was the new Camaro. Then Christmas 2007 came. Same. Then Christmas 2008. Same. This passed Christmas was so cool. I got myself the diecast Camaros before and this year I didn't have too. I had one in my driveway. And it's so cool to see what everyone is doing with theirs. It had been since 1986 when I was 16 and bought my POS ragged out 1973 Z28 that I felt was the coolest thing on the road. I fell into a life long love of the name Camaro and I finally got to have it again. I love this car. Scott, GM, Chevy, GOD................ Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!! |

fbodfather: I first saw the concept Camaro conv at the Carlisle Pa G.M. meet in 2007. I was unable to get to close due to the throngs of people surrounding the car. There were also G.M. reps there (I don't know if you were one of them) talking about the car. I immediately knew I was going to order a Camaro at that time, but had to wait until August of last year to get my Camaro due to a delay in the summit white.
Love my Camaro and hope G.M. can make an appearance at the upcoming camaro5fest.

I love that the Camaro is back, competition is a good thing. Now Ford will improve then GM will up the ante.....good times ahead. Besides, racing Hondas is like beating up a parapalegic.

You know Scott, everytime you put up one of these emotional threads about the Camaro two things happen... (well 3)
#1. I kick myself even more for not coming up and talking to you at the Camaro Summit in Akron this past year. You looked so busy with the Nickey group and making sure the cars looked perfect! I just didn't want to bug you. #2. I am so glad to see someone who uses the ellipses... you know... I use them too... a lot... but sometimes find myself removing them. Someone actually used them in an informal email to another coworker and the boss told them not to use them as they were informal... You took that, crimpled it up and tossed it in the circular file! AMEN to you and long live the ellipse... But most important, #3, You make me love my car more and more. I am so glad to be member of the group called Camaro owners. It is such an amazing car. With the 10" of snow on the ground and the Camaros tucked away in the garage under cover on life support, every time I peel back the cover, just a hair, and take a peek, I am again reminded why I have such feelings for this car. I have loved Camaros since i was 13 and my dad brought home a shiney new 1989 IROC Z. Man its was the cat's meow. I felt so cool riding it. That began my love for the Camaro. I mention that becasue I said earlier "the Camaros tucked away"... well that very same 1989 IROC Z that started it all shares the garage with my 2010 SS. 20 years later it is still the cats meow... the 2010 is the ROAR! THANKS AGAIN SCOTT and the whole Camaro team! I am forever in your debt.
