There are fold up bikes, but they suck. A 'real' bike needs a rack of some sort, there is no stuffing it into a trunk or the back seat. A bike rack, if mounted/designed right doesnt hurt the car. As great a car as it is.. it is just a car and should be able to be used for all the things the owner might need to do with it.

You need one a these little guys like mine for that

Cars get beat up and scratched up with bike transport; especially mountain bikes.

Your best bet (and what I'm gonna do) is to get a trailer hitch and go that route.

As for all you saying don't do this to your car like hes painting the thing neon green and purple or something seriously you need to stick it up your ass. Its just a car, and As long as its installed a properly a bike rack will do no harm.

Do you seriously hear yourselves, buying a beater CAR to haul around your bikes? And have you ever tried to put a bike in the back seat and not get chain grease all over the place, or scratch up your frame? I have a $3000 racing bicycle for triathlons, I am not taking the thing apart and stuffing it through that tiny trunk opening just so I don't have to put a rack on my car (PS it won't fit anyway that opening sucks).

Man this place is so ignorant sometimes you'd think we were driving Ferraris.
dude you crack me up. "Do you seriously hear your"self? Your not going to risk scratching a $3000 bicycle by putting it in a $40,000 "just a car". Sorry but I find that a bit ironic. I'm not arguing your or the OP's desire to do whatever you want with your car but your argument doesn't make much sense to me

I've never scratched up any of my cars with a bike. All it takes is being careful. Most people with expensive bikes like that would likely be quite careful with them. Heck, mine wasnt even close to $3k but I was still careful with how it mounted on the rack.

Woot another guy who likes the 29inch bikes. I think the hidden hitch is the way to go though. It takes a while for the roof rack companies to come out with pillars for the new cars-you don't need drip rails btw. If you get a rack that supports by the wheel instead of the toptube, then you won't drag the wheels when you're coming out of a driveway.

You WILL screw up your car AND your bike trying to put a mountain bike in the rear seat or the trunk. He's got an L-XL frame on 29inch wheels, I doubt it will fit period- but if it does he's going to scratch up the trunk opening. Most of the trunk racks will slide back and forth slightly leaving little squares where the pads are if the pads get any grit at all plus the bike is more likely to touch the car because it doesn't have much space from the vehicle.

LOL some of y'all are cute. It's a car. If you can't actually use it, then just put it in storage for when you're old and try to sell it at auction.

Go to Sun Valley or Tahoe, people with a whole different league of car are sporting bike and ski racks.
