Gorilla Wheel locks 61641

Thought I would pass this along as I learned the hard way. I replaced all my lug nuts with the Gorilla Wheel locks 61641. They say in the instructions to tighten to the car manufacturer torque specs, in our case 140 flbs. Well this wheel lock has a key that goes inside the sleeve that spins. Upon attempting to tighten I spun out my key.

I now have a new key on order and have to wait till it gets here. Fortunately it was the first one I tried so am only out one key. Gorilla locks dont like 140 flbs.

Cheers

I've done my wheels several times now, each time torqued to 140 lbs with a torque wrench, after using an impact wrench to tighten them on. I have 5 different sets on my wheels, and have not had any issues yet.

i don't like the fact that they are rusting a bit on the inside though :(

I have the same Gorilla locks torqued to 140 lbs. as do many others on the site. This is the first I have heard of a key stripping.
Maybe you tightened it on a angle, or the key was not in all the way.......... ..
