The 2010's compared with
Camaro's of yesteryear... http://www.exoticcarsite.com/0-60-qu...mile-times.htm not many too fast back then. And back then these are all straight line cars.. no handling at all!

-1998 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 SS 5.2 13.6 thats roughly .7ths of a second faster to 60 than the LLT! Of course by the 1/4 we're looking at about 1 second faster..but still! Not too damn bad for 217 cubes! LOL. |

That '98 time is rice. That's lower than the average that I remembered at the track I go to; not even close to the record time. Don't get me wrong - that LLT is only a few tenths behind many LT1 times I remember (not the best times, but average times). It DOES put it into perspective as far as how far cars from the factory have come. These cars are so much faster than OEM cars from back in the day, stock-for-stock. I think a lot of it is due to better tires and suspension, however, the newer cars are carrying so much more, in terms of comfort, convenience, safety, and weight...

I have a GMHP Magazine with about a dozen 98 LS1 cars doing 12.8 to 13.0's bone stock. If you could pull off the hole shot those were quick cars.
