That was actually the first Camaro I ever saw in person. I was up in Napa, California on my bike and I rode by a Chevy dealership and there was the Camaro. I VERY, VERY carefully rested my bike against the car to make sure it didn't scratch it.

Man, that may have been a lot car, but if saw some F'n bike laying on any car of mine, (even my beater) I'm picking it up, throwing it in the F'n street, and then would have had a good old fashion Come To Jesus Meeting with the Roosterlollipop who did it...and would have let the chips fall where they may, and not given a damn about the consequences!!! Why can't people respect other people's property???!

(Side note, thanks for the adrenaline rush! I was starting to get tired, but now I'm good to go for another three or four hours!!!)

Okay Ill say it.

1. A mountin bike rack on a Camaro is stupid as $hit.

2. George Clooney is effing retarded.

3. Leaning your bike against a car thats not yours (why would you get that stupid idea anyways is beyond me) shows your lack of respect for other peoples property. Are you one of those intitlement people who act like everything is theirs? Id bet you go through peoples drawers when nobody is looking too.

California dreaming....lol.

I'm an avid biker with the same issue as you. I think the main options tend to be either 1) buy a beater just for your biking/grocery shopping/other crap you don't want to do in your camaro. The main issue with this is you have $ tied up in this other car, as well as another car to maintain and pay insurance on OR 2) buy a high-quality trunk rack, one designed for a car with a spoiler in mind. Spending the extra cash on a high end one should help make sure that it was designed well and will keep your bike far away enough from the car to not get scratches. I had a cheap-o bike rack on the Grand Prix I just sold, and boy did it scratch the bejeesus out of that car. So choose wisely.

Oh and like the other people are saying, don't lean your bike up against someone elses' car, unless the owner gave you permission (hoping they did before you took that shot).

I realize I could probably put a trailer hitch on the back, but that would probably ruin the great lines, unless there is a way to hide it when not in use.

Any insight?
take someone elses car when you want to ride your bike

Ok, If I was gonna use my Camaro for haulin bikes (I have my Aveo for that) I would get the small 1 1/4" receiver hitch put on. It wont detract as much from the car like a roof rack or large reciever. Then put on one of these. I have this and so easy to use, just throw the bike on and lock it down. Have to use a cable lock though if you want to keep it secure. http://www.performancebike.com/bikes..._400007_400170 The other advantage is that it keeps from getting crap all over the roof and decreases the risk of scratching up your car or doing the imfamous, "i forgot the bikes were on there" when you pull into the garage.

I gotta stand up for Jake. The guys flaming him probably haven't been on a bike saddle in years. Fine ride or not the Camaro is still transportation for many of us. I don't see any problem with mods that make it more useful as long as they are done tastefully. IMHO a roof rack would mess up the lines but I'm not a fan of roof racks in general.

While the Camaro is not my primary transportation to the trailhead, it's a lot more fun and more economical then my diesel truck. So far I'm just dropping the rear car seat, removing the pedals & tires and very carefully placing it in the trunk. (In fact it's in the truck right now.) You may need to lower the seat stem if its a big frame.

This works Ok provided that you have wheel bags to keep those muddy knobbies from making a mess or scratching your other prize ride. Bring some old towels to put the bike on and to protect those nice bucket seats from sweat stains.

I have considered a hidden receiver with a removable access panel in the rear valence so it is completely out of sight when not in use. If you know a metal frabricator it might also be possible to configure a drop "u" between the receiver and rack to clear the rear panel without any cutting. When I get some time to tackle this I'll post something. In the mean time, happy trails.

Ok I'll say it... you're stupid as $hit. Maybe get off your ass and ride a bike one of these days insted of condemning others for it. And condemning putting something on the car that if installed properly does NO DAMAGE TO THE CAR and is easily removeable.
