How difficult is it to remove? Would it be possible to quickly take it out to go racing?

There are two bolts behind the back seat that wont be easy to get to. If you really had to, I guess it could probably be done quickly. 4 bolts to unscrew, unplug the main wiring harness, and pull it out. I dont know if the speakers would work or not after the sub is unplugged though. You might have to race without the radio.

That's a very good point. I doubt that any of the "bashers" of the factory MTX audio system thought of that before proclaiming that 200watt setup would be far too weak.

At .35watt ohms each, that would be the equivalent of .7 watts total ohm load wired in series. I am currently running a single DVC Alpine Type R 10 4ohm wired in parallel for a total of 2 ohm load at 500W.

Comparing the factory option MTX setup at .7 ohms at 200w, that would be comparable 500w setup with 2 10's running at 2ohm. So I can see how this system would sound pretty good!

Read Below. Its not two 10"s its one 10" sub and a 10" passive radiator which deepens the bass. Its the same thing as the thunderlink system that they sell on MTX website.
  • 200W, Fan Cooled Amplifier
  • 10” Subwoofer w/ Passive RadiatorBass Control

I went with the Stealth Box

I'm sure it's loud enough cause my 2001 camaro has the 10inch MTX Thunderform with the built in 200 watt amp and it sounds just right for me... Adding another sub and sharing the wattage would probably sound just right as well...considering that this is not a hatchback anymore and more power or air movement is needed to overcome the seats...

I have the 2SS and will be upgrading my system as well since bass sucks in it... I can barely even tell it's there... but then again, I've always had at least a 10inch or 2 12inch subs in my cars...

I do agree that it is a lot for that setup... I mean... you're paying for convenience... so everyone to their own...

I wish I was able to get my hands on that harness so that I could tap into it instead of the actual wires going into the amp...

I will probably be going with a single 10inch 10W3V3 with a Corner Stealth Box... I'm not into pounding bass anymore... I just want a little bump inside the cabin and dont want anything that will make the trunk rattle...

When I had 12s in my camaro, my trunk rattled and I hated that... i think it is embarrassing.... When I moved to a 10 inch... The bass inside fills the car and there is no rattle to the trunk... I expect to do the same in my 2SS..

Question: Do the 2 10s MTX setup make your trunk rattle?
Does it make anything inside rattle or vibrate?
I installed a single stealth sub and mounted the power amp suspended under the package tray - pass through still works (especially as a bass port if showing off) and the trunk still looks clean w/loads of space.

Also sources, cost, and difficulty of install/wiring?

If I get the GM install kit w/wiring, can that harness be used on anyones stuff?
