We are planning on cutting accross Ga. It looks like it will take the same amount of time, but save us a lot of miles (80 to 100) on the cars. We will come to Savannah, then take 84 accross.

21 lodging rooms have been reserved for your guests for the night(s) of 04/15/2010 - 04/16/2010, at the special group rate of $60.00 for single or double occupancy. That rate is subject to tax of 13%. All reservations should be made by 04/08/2010. After this date, all remaining rooms will be returned to general inventory for sale at the prevailing rate. Rooms can be cancelled if needed up to 24 hours of checkin time. They have also stated they will communicate with local sherriff's department to get increased patrols around the hotel the night of our stay. I thought that was cool.

EDOG, You have TNSPD listed plus 4 others. One is my wife with her own Camaro but the other 3 will need a room also. So, add 3 more rooms to your hold list. I will put out the info to them this weekend at the Club meet about calling and getting a reserved room.

Ok, I can do. I have 20 roooms held so far. When I get to 15 reserved I will ask for another block of ten. I think we are around 10 reserved so far. I will start color coding to show who I have as reserved. This can help as we go.

I95S to Savannah, then to Valdosta VIA 84W in GA.

Here is the latest update for the i95s caravan.

For dinner I was looking to eat at "Uncle Bubbas Oyster House" in Savannah. It is about 30 minutes from the hotel. I posted it up in the C5Fest link. If you are interested please click on this link and add your name. If we have more than ten people I can call and make a reservation.

The restaurant information is here: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=67083.

Let me know your thoughts.

So far we have 30 people meeting up on the way down to or in Savannah GA. :party0038:

If there is anyone else who would like to join us please PM me or post on the thread. Hotel info for Savannah is listed below. The more the merrier!

I know we have a number of people in MD, DC, and Va who plan on going. I think it would be safe to start a location for those north of Fredericksburg. I think the entrance of Spotsylvania Mall in Fredericksburg would be a good meeting point for those north of exit 130B on 95south in Va.

Fredericksburg VA exit 130B off 95 southbound. Two lights on the left at Spotsylvania Mall in front of the main entrance. It has a large space for many cars.
Meet between 9am and 10am. Depart Fredericksburg on Thursday@ 10am.

meeting points afterwards (tentative: TBD as we get closer)
B...Emporia Va around 11:45am and 12pm if all is well on hwy.
C...interstate 95s and interstate 40 NC between 1:30pm and 1:45pm
D...interstate 95s and interstate 20 SC 3:15pm and 3:30pm Gas up and eat at Indigo Joes Sports Pub and Restraunt.
E...interstate 95S and interstate 26 SC 5:30pm and 5:45pm
F...Savannah Ga, get hotel and eat/socialize then sleep. 7:15pm and 7:45pm "Uncle Bubbas Oyster House"

It appears things are slowing down. So far 430 signed up on the list. This is a huge number. Has everyone hooked up to a caravan if needed? Has everyone registered at the hotels or camp ground?

The days are going by quickly. Soon, we will be , coming from all over the country to meet up at one of the biggest car club meets I have seen. I myself am stoked at the thought of meeting many of you I chat with on a daily basis, or not so much with also.

If you are not situated yet, let us know. I know many people have tentative plans. All the caravan groups understand that as well. Hotels are listed and teams are working hard to ensure a positive experience on this trip for everyone attending C5Fest.

If you are driving multiple days you will most likely need to reserve rooms. Most groups have a discount involved due to so many people travelling. Most have cutoff dates to register for the discount. In most cases the rooms can be cancelled the night before the reservation date. So, if you think you are going to go, but are just not sure, attach yourself to a caravan if you need one, reserve your hotel/camground to ensure you have a place to stay and you get the discount.

I haven't forgotten you guys, probably when we hit the 2 week mark I'll work on some maps.

You've heard it said, "Real men don't ask for directions." I'm a cross-country driver, I'm here to confess publicly, that's the biggest crock of bull$shit I've ever heard LOL

Each person, even tho you're in a caravan, should have their trip planned out, somewhere along the line, odds are you will be separated from the car in front of you, or he got separated and is lost, and you're getting lost following him

I agree... get with me as we get close. We have specific routes and stopping locations already determined. We are also going to have a lead car and a follow car that can be in contact with eachother so minimize anyone getting out of the group. I have a good number of cell phone numbers but i will pass out maps and routes at our meeting in Cinci so everyone knows whats going on. I will also have all the addresses if people would like to use GPS or OnStar. I know I will have my Garmin hooked up!
