from a 2LT to a 1SS.

I was trying to be practical and "mature." I'll be 60 by the time the car gets here.

Maybe I can teach some of the youngsters in my neck of the woods how to really speed shift. lol. I guess once a racer, always a racer.

just changed mine from 1ss to 2ss as well, gotta have that ambient interior and IMO interior so nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone know how late we can change? Right now I have a 2LT ordered, but I really want a 2SS. However, I won't know if I have enough money for the upgrade until December.

You have up until the order is submitted for production. Most likely around Mid-January to Mid Febuary timeframe. Lets say, I'm putting my own deadline around Mid-December. Just in case they decide to start production early. Because as soon as your order is submitted for production, it's too late to change.

So change all you want now while you still can!

I'm starting to think that delivery of many SS Camaros will be delayed for months due to constraints with some SS equipment. GM is planning on V6s generating 70% to 80% of Camaro sales, similar to the Mustang sales split. If 80% of people pre-order SS Camaros there could be parts shortages and delays. I understand the reason GM allowed October sold order entry was to get a feel for what options people wanted so they could adjust component ordering somewhat in response. But they will not be able to drastically change the V6 to SS planned production split.

I'm sure GM is quite able and ready to make our cars in a timely manner. They know the SS is the "enthusiast" car. They say so right in their salesperson ordering guide. And I'm sure they realize it's the enthusiasts who are ordering most, if not all, of the Camaros right now.

As we have seen with a certain color which shall remain nameless, blue, and the leather option, they've done a few things some of us are not happy with. But for the most part, they've made us quite happy. I don't think they'd go and disappoint us now by not being ready for the production of our cars, especially when they've released this early ordering just for the sake of knowing what kind of orders they'd be getting.

You bring up an interesting point.

It seems like some dealerships have met their allocations for the year. And most orders on this website have been for an SS. I wonder how that'll work. Will they have a stock-pile of V6's and a forever waiting list for the SS?

they will make whatever people order, we were told that repeatedly at indy that they will make what ever people order. so if people arent ordering v6's i have to think that they wont be coming down the line with great frequency.

I am thinking about changing form 1ss to 2ss becasue I wanth the lighting and leather. . . I may hold out until after Sema to see if more options come out. like a Bumble Bee package.
