I am glad I do not have those back-up sensors.

The paint on the bumper cover is pure crap. I had to take mine in for the peeling issue in the seam between the quarter panel and the bumper.

The tabs that hold the bumper cover to the quarter panel are so fragile that the dealer broke one one one side and deformed the other after they took it off for paint and reinstalled it. They ended up buying me a whole new bumper cover for what was originally a 2" long paint peel issue. Looks good now but having to deal with the whole issue sucked donkey ballz.

Once you do and if they chip or peel it's all on him and will not be covered under warranty.

+1

If you try to fix this yourself you're putting future issues around this area at risk - I would have the dealer do anything and everything.

It always amazes how GM comes up with gadgets that cost money and then break right away your warranty period...just like the running lights which are required in Canada but not here...yet the bulbs will wear out faster and in some cases (like my Vette) are a real pain to replace.
In your case, your safest bet is to use some touch up paint...if it should get worse, then take it to the dealer...but try the touch up paint first...unless you're getting a $1,000 paint job from a private paint shop, it will never look the same from a dealership paint shop, just a fact of life...remember "You always get what you pay for."

I was responding to the OP's statement.... if he didn't want to get the bumper repainted, then I just stated my suggestion.

Why does GM use such cheap and flimsy "tabs" on their bumper covers. The ones on the GTO always break too, the dealer messed it up when they repainted my front bumper. REAL cars have parts that are connected with things like nuts and bolts, instead of "clips" and "tabs".

My wifes brand new Sebring got "old crappy white piece of crap truck" swiped, insurance paid to get it repainted, a year later it still looks great. They painted the whole bumper too.
